The Annapurna Massif is located within a Conservation Area, the largest protected area of Nepal, which stretches across 5 districts and over 7,000 squared kms of breathtaking mountain landscape dotted by countless rivers, pastures and ridges. This Area encompasses the whole Annapurna Sanctuary, a highly biodiverse glacial plateau sitting at over 4,000 m and surrounded by the majestic Annapurna range, which has been held as sacred by the local communities and considered the home of several buddhist and hinduist deities.

Our trek across this breathtaking landscape begins in the gorgeous lake-side town of Pokhara from where the trails wind their way through rural villages and settlements, all shadowed by the Massif itself. We'll see how most of the south-facing slopes within the Sanctuary are covered in dense tropical jungles of rhododendron and bamboo, while the north-facing slopes, in the rain shadow, have a drier, colder and therefore harsher climate.

Some of the amazing peaks we will be able to admire along our trek to Annaurna Base Camp are Gangapurna (7454 m), Machhapuchhre (6997 m), Mount Lamjung (6983 m) and the Himchuli Himal (6441 m). The best periods to go on this journey are Spring and Autumn, in other words March through May and September through December, but many hikers choose the Spring since the trails light ablaze with the blossoming of red, white and pink rhododendrons.

When you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted and welcomed by our staff member. He will help you get to your Hotel in the city. There is nothing else planned today, you may check into your Hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300 m)

You will be transferred to the airport for your early morning flight to Pokhara. The short scenic flight takes about 30 minutes. Pokhara is amongst the most famous cities of Nepal, and it is also often referred to as “the Tourist Hub” of the country. Upon landing at Pokhara, you will begin your trek to Ghandruk- a Gurung town from where the views of the Annapurna I (8091m) and the Himchuli Peak (6441m) are absolutely amazing. Trekking along verdant bamboo forests and crossing terrace farms laden with wet rice, barley, and maize, you will also cross several small settlements along the way, like Nayapul and Lumle. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Fly to Pokhara (820 meters) and Trek to Ghandruk (1,940 meters), Duration: 30 minutes Flight, 5 – 6 Hours Trek

From Ghandruk, you will follow a steady uphill-and-downhill climb through lush woodlands and rhododendron-laden trail to Chhomrong. Today might be a rather tough day of trekking on uneven trails. Initially, the trail is paved with slate stones and after a while, you will reach the top of the hill from where you can overlook at the gaping valley below. After a steep downhill walk, you will cross the river and arrive at the isolated settlement of Kimrong. Chhomrong is situated about a 90 minutes’ walk uphill from here. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2,170 meters), Duration: 5 – 6 Hours

The trail continues towards the Chhomrong Khola. Crossing the river and descending up 2,500 stone steps carved into the hillside, we will reach Sinuwa. All along the journey, you can catch amazing sights of the Machhapuchhre Peak (6997m), the Annapurna Himal (8091m) as well as the Himchuli Peak (6441). After passing Kuldighar, the trail is an easy downhill walk towards Bamboo. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

 Chhomrong to Bamboo (2,310 meters), Duration: 4 – 5 Hours

Passing through amazing lush, damp and wet Bamboo forests that form a dense green canopy above the trail, you will ascend steadily downwards along steep sections that are cut across the hills. You reach the Himalayan Hotel and with a steep climb, you will reach the Hinku cave. From here, the trail drops down towards the river again and turns uphill to reach Deurali. Shrubs of magnolia and small rhododendron trees cover the trail and wildflowers add a colourful patina to the wet rocks along the terrain. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Bamboo to Deurali (3,230 meters), Duration: 3 – 4 Hours

Climbing gently alongside the riverbed, you will be making your way over a mountainside towards Bagar. From here, the trail ahead leads towards the Machhapuchhre Base Camp. It is a somewhat strenuous trek. From the Machhapuchhre Base Camp, the Annapurna Base Camp is situated at a distance of about 2 hours. Views of the Machhapuchhre Himal (6997m), the Himchuli Peak (6441m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7555m) and the Gangapurna Peak (7454m) from the base camp of Machhapuchhre are quite spectacular. Along the trek through the Annapurna sanctuary, you can get a sensational view of the near-vertical south face of the Annapurna towering above in a hauntingly beautiful way. Trekking through an amazing landscape, you will finally reach the Annapurna Base Camp from where the sights of the Annapurna massif, as well as many neighbouring peaks, are splendid. Overnight stay at the Annapurna Base Camp.

Deurali to Annapurna Base camp (4,130 meters) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 meters), Duration: 5 – 6 Hours

From the Annapurna Base Camp, we will retrace our steps back towards Bamboo. Trekking through the sanctuary, you can take in the moist wetland feel of the landscape, where the trail passes over small brooks and rivers and mighty trees shadow the trail overhead with branches covered in lichen, orchids, and moss. The trek back towards bamboo is downhill, so it isn’t very difficult. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo, Duration: 7 – 8 Hours

Tracing our steps back, we will trek uphill from Bamboo towards Kuldighar, from where we will descend down again towards the Chhomrong Khola. Climbing the stone steps once again to Chhomrong, we will follow the trail towards JhinuDada- a beautiful tranquil village that is famous for its natural hot springs. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,780 meters), Duration: 5 – 6 Hours

From Jhinu, you will trek along the beautiful countryside towards Nayapul. Distant views of the Annapurna Mountains loom up quite dramatically and the wet farms brimming with rice plantations provide the hamlets with a rich natural pulchritude. From Nayapul, it is an hour’s drive to Pokhara. When you reach Pokhara, in the evening, you can also enjoy a beautiful boat-ride on the pristine Phewa Lake and explore the lake-side area where there are many restaurants that cater to many different continental cuisines as well as cultural programs. Overnight stay at a Hotel.

Trek to Nayapul then Drive to Pokhara, Duration: 6 Hours Trek and 1 Hour Drive

You will say goodbye to the Annapurna Mountains one last time as you fly back to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival back in the capital, you can spend the time as you please, exploring the city on your own or relaxing. You can visit different landmarks of the city as well if you want. Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 meters)

Today, you will have a guided sightseeing tour of the four major UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu City. The heritage sites include the Kathmandu Durbar Square- a sprawling complex of old buildings, temples, monuments, and statues as well as the old royal palace of the medieval Nepalese monarchy, the holy Pashupatinath Temple, the Swayambhunath Stupa and the Boudhanath Temple. Each of the sites holds an important religious and historical characters that reflect Nepal’s rich dexterity in terms of architecture and art. Kathmandu sightseeing tour and Trek preparation

Early in the morning, we will take a short 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. You will be transferred to the airport for the flight. The short flight is riddled with amazing views of the Nepali Himalayas that surround the peripheries of the valleys. Pokhara is the tourist hub of the country. From the city, we will begin our trek towards the village of Ulleri. Following a drive to Nayapul, we continue the journey from the town as the trail goes through amazing forests of Cedar and Pine and coruscates along the hillside towards the Burundi Khola. We walk for a while before reaching Ulleri. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Ulleri.

Fly to Pokhara (820 meters) and Trek to Ulleri (1,960 meters), Duration: 30 minute Flight and 6-Hours Trek

After breakfast, we will ascend down towards the village of Ghorepani. Looming views of the Himalayan peaks also add a sense of beauty and awe to the landscape. The Magar village of Ghorepani is situated right at the base of Poon Hill and is one of the most beautiful Himalayan villages in Nepal. The view of the Annapurna South (7219m) and the Nilgiri Peak (7061m) from the village are also quite astounding. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Ghorepani.

Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,880 meters), Duration: 4 – 5 Hours

Today is an anticipated day of the trekking trip. Early in the morning at dawn before sunrise, we will make our way towards the vantage point of Poon Hill. When you reach Poon Hill, you will be able to witness a dream-like moment. From the viewpoint, you can also enjoy the panoramic view of the Pokhara valley as well, and peaks such as Tukuche (6920m), Nilgiri (7061m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli(6441m),Tarke Kang (7193m), Gangapurna (7454m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Machhapuchhre (6997m) and Mt Dhaulagiri (8167m) tower in front of you closely. After spending time enjoying the views at Poon Hill, we will trek back to Ghorepani and have our breakfast. From here, we will descend through amazing rhododendron woods and pass by beautiful waterfalls towards Tadapani. Overnight stay at a guesthouse at Tadapani.

Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,630 meters) with a visit to Poon Hill, Duration: 6 – 7 Hours

From Tadapani, we will ascend through steep terrains towards Nayapul. Dark forests of scented pine and Himalayan junipers ornament the trail with their verdant canopies of emerald foliage. Crossing a ravine, we will enter Nayapul again. Views of the Machhapuchhre Himal (6997m), the Hiunchuli Peak (6441m), the Annapurna South (7219m) and the Dhaulagiri Peak (8167m) while trekking is quite stunning. Making our way downwards towards Birethanti, we will trek through numerous villages to finally reach Nayapul. From here, we will have a drive back to Pokhara. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Pokhara.

Tadapani to Pokhara, Duration: 6 Hours Trek and 1 Hour Drive

From Pokhara, we will have a drive back towards the capital. The drive back is also a great journey where you can see fleeting glimpses of the countryside life of Nepal. The stunning hills and the winding terrace farms slowly give way towards the sprawling urban city as you reach nearer to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu.

Drive back to Kathmandu, Duration: 6 Hours

Would you like to experience the unique mountain life of Nepal? Then join us and discover the stunning Himalayan landscapes on a thrilling **13-day adventure in the Gokyo Valley, starting from Kathmandu.** 

Gokyo is a stunning mountain village located at an altitude of 4,750 m (15,580 ft) at the breathtaking **Gokyo Ri** mountain, and will be the highest point of our trek  which will also take us through the Himalayan settlement of Phakding, through UNESCO’s natural world heritage site **Sagarmatha National Park** to the famous **Namche Bazaar** town, and through amazing river valleys, deep forests, pastures, and local villages. It will also take us to the pristine **Gokyo Lakes,** which are famous for their turquoise blues and are considered sacred in the local culture. Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300 meters/4,264 Ft.)

You will take an early morning flight to Lukla today. The thrilling 30 minutes flight rewards you with spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and lush green hills. On reaching Lukla, you will start your trek to Phakding. You will be walking through small villages with the beautiful view of prayer flags on the way to Phakding. Overnight at the hotel in Phakding.

Short Scenic Flight to Lukla (2,840 meters) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 meters), Duration: 3 to 4 Hours

Leaving Phakding, you will be walking along the side of Dudh Koshi River towards Namche Bazaar. Walking through the dense rhododendron and pine forests, you will arrive in Monjo, which is the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. After crossing the suspension bridge and walking ahead for a while, you will arrive in the famous Sherpa town named Namche Bazaar. Overnight at the hotel in Namche Bazaar.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters), Duration: 5 to 6 Hours

Today will be spent in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. The town is also amazing for experiencing the Sherpa culture, and you can also visit the Everest Photo Gallery and the Sherpa Culture Museum here. Moreover, you can visit the Everest View Hotel from where you can get an amazing view of snow-capped mountains, including Everest (8848m). You can also take a leisurely hike to Syangboche Airstrip that is located above Namche. Stay overnight at the guesthouse in Namche.

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

From Namche, the trail continues steadily towards Khyangjuma and goes through amazing rhododendron forests. The trail passes many pastures and summer settlements used by Sherpas while bringing herds of yaks to graze in the high pastures of the Himalayas. The route also passes through the settlements of Tongba and Tangwa Kharka to finally reach Dhole. The views of Mount Khumbila (5761m) and Taboche Peak (6367m) are incredible throughout the journey. Overnight at guesthouse in Dhole.

Trek to Dhole (4,200 meters), Duration: 5 to 6 Hours

The trekking trail continues steeply upward to the settlement of Kele and Luza. The trail continues to climb along the side of Dudh Koshi River, crossing rocky hills to finally arrive in Machhermo village. On reaching Machhermo, you will have some rest and then roam around the village. You can visit some of the small Buddhist stupas which are beautifully decorated with prayer flags. Stay overnight at the guesthouse in Machhermo.

Trek to Machhermo (4,470 meters), Duration: 4 to 5 Hours

Today, you will climb on a steep ridge above Machhermo from where you will get a beautiful view of Cholatse (6335m) and Toboche (6367m). Then you will walk ahead towards Phangga with the beautiful view of Cho Oyu (8188m). The trail continues to ascend towards the moraine of Ngozumpa Glacier, which is the longest glacier in Nepal. Then, you will continue walking towards the first Gokyo Lake, Longponga (4710m), and the second Lake, Taujung Tsho (4740m), and finally arrive at the third lake named Dudh Pokhari, beside which the old village of Gokyo is situated. Stay overnight at the guesthouse in Gokyo.

Trek to Gokyo (4,790 meters), Duration: 5 to 6 Hours

Today, you will take a short hike to Gokyo Ri (5360m). It is a popular viewpoint from where you will have an excellent view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Makalu (8463m), and other mountains along with all of the Gokyo Lakes and the massive Ngozumpa Glacier. Then you will return to Gokyo and enjoy the beautiful view of turquoise Dudh Pokhari. After enjoying the best time here, you will return to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Rest Day at Gokyo

Taking the similar route back, we will make our way back to Dhole. It is a downward trail, which takes you under the shadowy mountains along the beautiful landscape. You will pass by small picturesque villages of Machhermo, Luza, Kele, and to finally reach Dhole. Stay overnight in a guesthouse.

Trek back to Dhole (4,200 meters) Duration: 5 to 6 Hours

Walking slowly back towards the Dudh Koshi River Valley, you will trek down to Namche again. Following the trail embedded onto the side of verdant hills, you will be trekking on dainty paths passing by Sherpa caravans along the way. The trek down to Namche is quite beautiful, and since you will be making your way back, the journey also seems relatively easy. Upon reaching Namche, you can just relax. Overnight stay in Namche.

Trek back to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters), Duration: 5 to 6 Hours

From Namche, you will retrace your trail along the Imja River all the way to Phakding. The captivating landscape and the beguiling Himalayas make the journey back even more pleasant. The villages also tend to be lively with people, and you can witness them working on their terrace farms of barley and potatoes. Crossing suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi River, you will then make your way back to Lukla. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Lukla.

Trek back to Phakding (2610m) – Lukla (2840m), Duration: 4 to 5 Hours

Bidding goodbye to the mountains, you will take a morning flight back to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you can spend your time as per your convenience. Enjoy a fun evening in the vibrant streets and the bustling restaurants of Thamel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Today you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight back home.

The Everest Base Camp Trek will begin in Kathmandu where you’ll board a short flight (40 min) to the town of Lukla (2,860 m). From here you will meet your local Guide and we will begin our trek to Phakding (2,610 m), a Sherpa village located along the beautiful Bhote Koshi River gorge. The next stop will be Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) , a trading post for Sherpas which we’ll reach after walking past countless Mani stones and the typical nepalese strips of prayer flags.

Other villages we will be crossing include Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche among others, as well as the Khumbu region’s most sacred and ancient Buddhist temple, Tengboche Monastery (3,867 m). At this point the trek will become more demanding as we will start our actual climb towards the Everest Base Camp, crossing various stunning glaciers. Once we reach the Base Camp (5,364m) we will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the entire Khumbu Valley and its Himalayas. But we won’t head back yet, as we will continue our climb to Kala Patthar (5,644 m), from where Mt. Everest will be visible in all its glory as well as the incredible surrounding peaks.

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

While we finish the last-minute official procedure with the Nepal government, you will have a leisure day for shopping, visiting the Durbar Squares, Hindu shrines, Buddhist Stupas, or just resting at the hotel. A favorite location is the Monkey Temple, a Buddhist temple located on a small hill that provides a panoramic view of Kathmandu city. Or you can join the thousands of Hindus who visit the Pashupatinath temple, one of the most well-known Hindu temples in Nepal and the most renowned Shiva temple in Asia. Kathmandu: Sightseeing and trek preparation

From Kathmandu, take a mountain flight to Lukla. Lukla airport is one of the most dangerous airports in the world. Bounded by tall peaks and hills, the runway at Lukla is quite captivating and the flight is considered as an exhilarating adventure in itself. Upon arriving at Lukla, the trail slowly leads us to the Cheplung Village. From there, a steady walk downwards will take us to the village of Phakding. Overnight stay at Guesthouse.

The trail leads us to the mountain town of Namche Bazaar via Jorsale and Monjo villages. Walkthrough Sagarmatha National Park and experience the alpine forests and the streams and rivers. Namche Bazaar, because of its central location, is the commercial hub of Khumbu region. The vista of Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m), Ama Dablam (6856m) and Everest (8848m) seen from Namche is astonishing. Overnight stay at Guesthouse.

Namche is a great place to sink in with nature. The view around Namche is outstanding and attractive.  Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

Following the trail along the right side of Dudh Koshi River and enjoying the astounding natural scenery of streams, hills and the Himalayan peaks, the village of Tengboche is reached. The village of Tengboche is situated at the union of the Dudh Koshi and the Imja Khola rivers and is bounded by rhododendron trees. The village is renowned for Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery of the Khumbu region. Tengboche Monastery is also considered as the mystical hub of the Khumbu region.
