I invite you to join me on the mythical **Haute Route ski traverse**, a legendary tour that links **Chamonix, in France, and Zermatt, in Switzerland**. It will be an unforgettable 6-day trip, from the **Mont Blanc to the feet of the impressive Matterhorn**.

During these days, we will cross the most spectacular mountain scenery in the Alps. We will go through high mountain passes and amazing glaciers. Most important, we will enjoy incredible descents!

Also, during this week, I will teach a variety of topics, like risk assessment on glacial terrain, glacier travel and the use of avalanche beacons and special equipment.

On the first day, we will meet in Chamonix and we will enjoy a descent of 3000 metres. This first night we will sleep in the Argentière hut (2771 m). On the second day we will start touring to the **Col du Chardonnet (3325m)**, and then we will ski down to the Saleina glacier. This day will continue with amazing descents and we will end up in the Montfort Hut (2457 m).

On the third day, after we get to the **summit of Rosablanche (3336 m)** we will have a beautiful descent to the Prafleuri Hut. The next day, we will ski up to the Lac des Dix, where we will find quite flat terrain. We will finally get to the Cabane des Dix.

On the fifth day, we will climb up to the Berthol Hut (3311 m), one of the most beautiful huts in the Haute Route. We will enjoy **a spectacular panorama of the Dent Blanche, the Dent d’Hérens, and of course the impressive Matterhorn**.

Finally, on the sixth day, we will ski up to the **summit of the Tête Blanche (3724 m )**. From there, we will have amazing views of the Zermatt valley. Then, all is left is enjoying an unforgettable descent and then finally arriving to Chamonix.

**You can check the day-by-day detailed itinerary below this text**. Also, please note that this itinerary can be modified according to the group's ski level, the wishes of everybody and weather conditions. I take a minimum of 4 and a **maximum of 6 people per group**, to ensure everyone's safety.

Elevation gain: 200 m – Descent : 3000 m. (5 hours). We will meet at 9 in Chamonix for a briefing and equipment check. After a nice descent of the **Aiguille des Grands Montets**, we will practice avalanche awareness. Then we will go down the Argentiere glacier towards the Argentière hut (2771 m) where we will spend the night.

Chamonix – Argentière Hut

Elevation gain: 1200 m – Descent : 2400m. (6 to 7 hours). We will begin touring up to the Col du Chardonnet (3325m). Then, we will ski down to the Saleina glacier. From there we will ski up to the Fenêtre de Saleina, then descend underneath the Aiguilles Dorées. After we cross the Trient glacier, we will pass through the Fenêtre de Chamois (2985m), from where we will start skiing down to the Val d’Arpette. The descent will end 1300m further down in Champex. A quick transfer by bus brings us to Le Chable, from where we take the cable car up to Mont Fort. A quick descent and we will be at the Montfort hut.

Argentière Hut – Montfort Hut

Elevation gain : 1000m – Descent : 800 m. (6 hours). From Montfort hut (2457 m) we will go to la Chaux pass (2940 m), a quick descent and then  we will get to the Momin pass. Then we can ski tour up to the summit of Rosablanche (3336 m). From there, we will have a beautiful ski descent down to the Prafleuri hut.

Montfort Hut – Prafleuri Hut

Elevation gain: 800 m – Descent : 1300 m. (6 hours). Today we will ski tour up and along Lac des Dix. The terrain is quite flat, and a good sliding technique will help us to preserve energy reserves needed for later. Then, we will go through the Pas de Chat, the  Pas de Chèvre, then a great descent to Arolla. We will spend the night in a very nice hotel.

Elevation gain : 1343 m (5 hours). Today we will climb up to the Berthol Hut, one of the most beautiful huts in the Haute Route. We will enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Dent Blanche, the Dent d’Hérens, and of course the impressive Matterhorn.

Elevation gain: 550 m- Descent : 2110 m. (4 hours). Finally, on the sixth day, we will ski up to the summit of the beautiful Tête Blanche (3724 m ). From there, we will have amazing views of the Zermatt valley. Then, all is left is enjoying an unforgettable descent down the  Stocki glacier and to Zermatt, our final destination. Then, a bus ride will take us back to Chamonix.

**Les 3 Vallées is a great area for backcountry skiing and ski touring fanatics.**

Originally from Marseille but being a mountain guide from les 3 Vallées, I know every corner of this domain. **I will be happy to guide you for one or several days around Courchevel, Méribel, Val Thorens, Saint Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires, Pralognan, etc.**

We can also do some heliski in Italy, from Courchevel or Méribel.

The program and itinerary will be defined based on your ski level, on your wishes and on the weather & snow conditions.

Here are some possible itineraries that I like to do with my clients.

**1\. EMILIENNE PEAK/ COL DU FRUIT**  
We go up the Creux Noirs by chairlift. Airline Edge (15 min). Then we gown by one of the North 45 ° corridors (D-300m). Afterwards, we ascend the Emilienne Peak pass in seal skins (1 h, D+300m), and we go down the Vallon du Saut hill slope (D-1000m). We have lunch at the Plan de Tueda refuge. This itinerary is intended for good skiers, the level is difficult.

**2\. NORTH FACE OF LA GRATTE / GEFRIAND / NORTH FACE OF COCHET**  
From the Lac Noir chairlift,we  climb in seal skins on La Gratte (20 min). Then we go down the North corridor of la Gratte 40-45°, (D-200m). And down of the small valley of Geffriand to the chalet of Geffriand (D-500m). Afterwards we ascend in seal skins to the Col de la Fenêtre (30-45 min, D+200m). Aerial crossing of the Cochet arete and then down the North Face. Arete to 35°, then slope to 55/60°, 3 lengths of rope. We have lunch in a charming restaurant at Saint Martin de Belleville. This itinerary is reserved for very good skiers since it is very difficult.

**3. GLACIER OF GEBROULAZ / DOWN ON PRALOGNAN**  
From Thorens pass, we climb to Gebroulaz pass in seal skins (1:30 h,  D+500m. Then down on Pralognan, it’s possible to go through different ways, then by the Soufre pass and the Vallon du Prioux. We have lunch at Roc de la Pêche and then return by taxi to Méribel.  
A possible variant of this trip is to climb to Polset pass, Chavière Lake, Chavière pass 2X45 min in seal skins (D+400m), and then down by the canyon.

**4\. CORRIDOR CARON PEAK / LA PIERRE FENDUE PEAK / BOUCHET CORRIDOR**  
From Caron Peak we go down the corridor 45° on Caron combe. Then, cable car ascent and down on the Pierre Fendue combe. Afterwards an ascent on the chair lift of Plan de Bouchet allows us to go down the steep corridors 45-50° on the Pierre Lory combe. Finally descent on the Lou Lake by Brequin. We have late lunch at Pépé Nicolas. The itinerary is intended for good to very good skiers.

**Enjoy one or several days off piste skiing and/or ski touring in Alpe d'Huez and its surroundings.**

**Alpe d'Huez** is a beautiful ski resort in the **Central French Alps**, with almost 250 kilometers of slopes for all levels.

The main objective of this trip is to let you enjoy the best snow of the area far from the lifts. That's why I'll guide you through the best spots of the region.

Besides, I'll give you a basic training if you are a beginner or support you in passing the next level if you are a more experienced skier.

I'll organize this trip in groups up to eight people. That will depend on the route we choose and the technical level of each client.

#### POSSIBLE ROUTES WE CAN EXPLORE

These are some of the places we can explore during this ski trip:

*   **Le Grand Sablat, Le Pic Bayle, Le Glacier des Quirlies**, etc.
    
*   The north side of **Vaujany** and it's different routes.
    
*   **Les Vallons de La Meije in La Grave, Les 2 Alpes, Serre Chevalier, Montgenèvre**, etc.
    
*   **Massif des Grandes Rousses, Grandes Buffles,** the famous traverse of **Les Rousses, le Pic de l'Etendard**, etc.
    
*   **Les Enfetchores, Col et Tête du Replat,** etc.
    
*   Other routes to discover are **Les Cerces, Les Ecrins, Le Queyras**, among others.

**Located in the French Alps, Les 3 Vallees is the largest ski area in the world, with more than 600 kilometers of slopes.** Ski resorts like **Courchevel, Meribel,** and **Val Thorens** make it a great place for ski touring, freeride skiing and freerando.

Skiing in Les 3 Vallees is special because:

*   It is a huge ski area with great spots you can access with lifts and just walking up a few meters with the skis;
    
*   It is suitable for every skier, from beginners to experienced ones;
    
*   The views are breathtaking.
    

Some of the key spots we can visit here are **Vallons des Avals, Glacier Gebroulaz,** and **Les Encombres.** We can leave together for one or several days. We can also choose between returning every evening to the ski resort or staying in one of the huts. Refuge du Roc de la Pêche can be an option in that case.

If you are a beginner, we can start by learning the basics. If however, you have prior experience, we can choose a route to put your skills to practice and take them to the next level!

The **Vallee Blanche** is a fantastic area for **ski touring.** It offers a very long descent that can be done in equally amazing sections.

One of the biggest and most famous highlights of the **Vallee Blanche** is that you´ll find yourself in the middle of the **Mont Blanc Massif**. Just being able to see this incredible massif is reason enough to visit. On this trip, you will be able to tour around the Massif and see the scenery in all of its glory.

The adventure will begin in Courmayeur. From  **Punta Helbronner (3,462m), we** will get to enjoy a descent of just over **2,400 metres**, until we reach **Chamonix (1,037m)**. From there, we will take a bus to **Courmayeur.** 

When it comes to which direct routes we take down the **Vallee Blanche**, and where we will take breaks, that will depend on a number of factors. Those factors include **weather conditions,** what specific **scenic highlights** you wish to see, and your **ability**.

In order to make the descent down the **Vallee Blanche**, you must have **off-piste skiing experience and a good fitness level**.

#### Loose rocky chutes become frozen couloirs, revealing routes for us to follow…

**Winter ice climbing in Chamonix**… finding and climbing the **most perfect routes** to the top, is a challenge that you previously only dreamed achieving.

My Chamonix ice climbing week not only gives you a **taste of the ice climbing world**, but sets you up to go exploring the winter routes by yourself….

This week is addressed to the ones practicing already the winter mountaineering or ice fall climbing and wishing to go to the next level. We will go climbing together **Ice Gullies** which might seem to you inaccessible. You will learn to tame a wild environment.

##### During this winter program, I will be happy to teach you the following things:

– Develop your skills on snow, ice and snow and rock (“mixed”)  
– Learn to belay and lead  
– Use efficiently the safety equipment on this terrain (including ice screws, nuts, ice axe etc )  
– Evaluate Ice and Snow conditions

Here is an example of program, which might change based on the weather conditions and also on your level, timing and wishes.

**– DAY 1: Creamery Glacier Icefall, 70m – Grade III+**

Meeting in Chamonix at 9am. Then, we continue to the foot of Argentiere Glacier. At this time we will learn how to use crampons and ice axes in high altitudes. Climbing an ice cascade of 70m.

**– DAY 2: Icefall of EMHM, 110m – Grade IV**

Located on the left side of Argentiere Glacier, this waterfall offers incredible views. We will try some mixed climbing (rock and ice).

**– DAY 3: Arveyron Gorges Ice climbing, 50m – Grade III to V**

The Arveyron gorges are situated in a magical setting. Further, the ice is very sculpted. So we will practice the technique known as “hooking”, climb just putting the ice axes in holes.

**– DAY 4: Mini Couloir Icefall, 60m – Déferlante Icefall 40m / Grade IV**

For this day, we will discover two beautiful icefalls situated on the right side of Argentiere Glacier. Each icefall offers varied climbing options.

**– DAY 5: Troulèro Icefall, 190m – Grade IV+**

At least, the last day, we will move to the Black water Valley of Switzerland at 2km from the borderline. We will enjoy incredible climbs and traverse through amazing passes. Finally, we return to Chamonix. End of the trip.

Join me for a short trip from 2 to 6 days in an incredible rock climbing spot: the cliffs of Verdon Gorge (also Les Gorges du Verdon or Grand canyon du Verdon).

This is definitely one of the best spots in Europe to do rock climbing. It’s particularly unique because of the quality of the limestone, the absolute best one in France.

I enjoy very much bringing my clients here because the atmosphere is just great, you have people coming from all over the world to climb these walls. Besides, the views on the rocks and the river are beautiful!

The multi-pitch routes on this trip are suitable for climbers of an intermediate skill level to more experienced climbers. This makes everyone feel comfortable.

The cliffs of Verdon Gorge are about 25 kilometers long and up to 700 meters deep. There are more than 1500 climbing routes in this place! We'll climb from both sides of the Verdon River.

We can climb in this place all year round. However, the best period is from April to June and September to November.
