**Located on the southern slope of the Pyrenees, Andorra experiences fantastic snow during winters. Join me to discover the stunning beauty of these Andorran mountains on this 6-day snowshoeing trip. We will walk inches deep in powder snow under the bright sun on this fun trip!**

The tour can be enjoyed with your complete family and we can further customize it based on your preferences. And, did you know **Caldea**, **the largest spa in Europe** is also there in the area? What a perfect way would it be to unwind after a long day!

To warm-up, we will start from the **Ordino pass and advance towards the mountain of Bony de les Neres** (2211m). The trail leads through a forest offering stunning views. And if you are lucky, you might as well **spot a few mouflons or capercaillies on the way!**

The next day, we will set out towards the **plateaus of Rabassa**. The landscape will become softer and the snowy expanses would seem neverending. It will be a sight like no other!

Thereafter, we will explore the **Incles Valley and the spectacular Llac dels Pessons.** It will be a delight to cross so many streams and hamlets on the way in so scenic a setting. The trail will lead onto the Port of Incles from where you will get to appreciate the frozen lakes of Fontargent. The lakes at Pessons, also frozen are surrounded by needle-like peaks which look simply outstanding.

Finally, we will spend the last morning visiting the **Sorteny Nature Reserve.** It will be such an enriching experience to **explore the wildlife along with enjoying snowy vistas.**

We will greet you with a welcome drink and brief you at 19:00 at the hotel about the tour plan.

Sunday: Welcome !

To warm up on your snowshoes, we will begin from the Ordino pass and head towards the Bony de les Neres (2211m) for a loop in the forest. Here, you will see exceptional views of the Andorran mountains. And if you are lucky, you might as well spot the mouflon or the capercaillie!

The afternoon can end in a perfect way relaxing in Caldéa, the famous leisure spa.

Elevation gain: 450m

Walking time: 4 hours

Monday:The Bony of the Neres

We will head towards the plateaus of La Rabassa in the south of the country. The landscapes become softer and the snowy expanses seem to be neverending, extending beyond infinity. We will cross over to the Spanish side and admire the Sierra del Cadi.

Elevation gain: 300 m

Walking time: 5 hours

Tuesday - The plateaus of Rabassa

We will head towards the valley of Incles following the stream. We will cross hamlets and sheepfolds and continue towards the beautiful lakes of Juclar. The scenery almost changes, and it will be spectacular to see the granite peaks along with its streams.

From here, we’ll go up to the Port of Incles to appreciate the frozen lakes of Fontargent.

The afternoon can again be spent relaxing in Caldéa.

Elevation gain: 480 m

Walking time: 5 hours

Wednesday - Incles Valley

 We will visit this magnificent lakeside area surrounded by granite cirques. Here, you will discover several frozen lakes surrounded by snow-covered needle peaks which looks spectacular.

Elevation gain: 450 m

Walking time: 5 hours

Thursday - Hike to Llac dels Pessons

The last morning will be spent in the Sorteny Nature Reserve. You will explore its wildlife and snowy valleys and cross many frozen streams in so beautiful a setting.

Thereafter, we will depart after lunch.

Elevation gain: 280 m

Walking time: 3 hours

Friday - The Sorteny Valley (Morning)

##### Despite being a very small country, Andorra is nonetheless a beautiful place to visit and explore. And on this week long hiking trip, you will get plenty of opportunity to see what makes this place so wonderful.

You will be staying in a very comfortable **3 star hotel** throughout this trip. That hotel will be our base, and from there, we will venture out to several different and sensational spots. Those spots include the **Madriu valley, the Cabana Sorda pond, the Sorteny Botanical nature park**, and the **Ensagent lakes**. Other spots you will get to visit include the **Rialb valley, Querol, Salamander, the Font Verd refuge, the Estall Serrer** and the **Estany Moreno**. You will also get to trek to the summits of two marvelous peaks during this trip as well. Those peaks are the **Griu peak (2,874m)** and **Pessons peak (2,860m)**. from these summits you will be granted spectacular panoramic views that will really open up the natural landscape of **Andorra** for you.

During our hikes, you will get to admire the landscape’s amazing variety of **flora and fauna**. You will also likely get the chance to see some of area’s wildlife as well, including **marmots**.

This trip is open to people of all levels. However, because we will be **hiking for 5 to 6 hours per day**, you should be in **good physical condition**.

Arrival

Today we will hike through the beautiful Madriu valley. In the valley we will visit the Font Verd refuge and the Estall Serrar. We will be hiking for approximately 5-6 hours.

Madriu Valley

We will hike to the Incles valley. Along with the Cabana Sorda Pond, we will also visit Querol and Salamander. We will be hiking for approximately 5-6 hours.

Today we will hike through the Sorteny Nature Park. Afterwards, we will go up to Lake Estanyo and return by way of the Rialb valley. We will be hiking for approximately 5 hours.

Along with hiking to the summit of Pessons Peak, we will also visit the largest lake area in the country that consists of 18 lakes and ponds. We will be hiking for approximately 6 hours.

Pessons Peak (2,860m)

Today’s hike will begin in the valley of the Cortals d’Encamp. There you will get to see the Estany Moreno. We will also hike to the summit of the Griu peak as well. We will return by the same route or by the Collada d’Entinyola and the Bosc del Campea. We will be hiking for approximately 6 hours.

Andorra, 7 Day Guided Hiking Tour

Enjoy the hiking experience of a lifetime in the Pyrenees. Join one of our certified guides on an epic adventure as you climb the three highest points in Ariège. You’ll also trek in three different countries over the five days. 

This experience will begin in Ariège with a day of hiking towards your first mountain hut, your “basecamp” for the following day’s hike where you’ll take on the three peaks. These are Montcalm at 3077m, Estat Peak at 3143m and Verdaguer Peak at 3131m. Later that very same day we’ll cross over into the valleys of Spain. 

Your third day will see you exploring those valleys further before moving across to Andorra where you’ll reach the highest peak, Comapedrosa at 2942 meters.

The next day you’ll walk to Arinsal where a shuttle will be waiting for you. This shuttle will take you through the UNESCO listed Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley. You’ll then hike to your final mountain hut for the trip via a beautiful circuit filled with lakes. 

Your last day will start with an early morning climb to Gargantillar Pass and the lake and mountain Pessons Circuit Summit taking you to 2826 meters.  You’ll then descend to the Grau-Roig ski resort where the trip will end.

On this trip, you’ll spend anywhere from 5-8 hours hiking every day. Plus you’ll also be hiking up til 1,500 meters higher on some days. So, you’ll need to have a good level of fitness.

Gather at the COULOIR MOUNTAIN STORE for equipment rental (if needed) and a briefing around 10:30 a.m. Begin with a warm-up in the picturesque Sorteny valley before setting out on your chosen itinerary, depending on the snow conditions. Receive technical corrections for ski touring and participate in a DVA (Digital Voice Assistant) workshop to enhance your skills.
