**If you think you have had enough experience climbing rocks, then you haven’t been to Svolværgeita yet! Commonly known as the “goat” due to its unique two mountain horns, this 150- meter tall pinnacle in Lofoten, Norway is one of the most impressive rocks you can climb.** 

The half-day tour takes you through an amazing approach hike to the base of the pinnacle. And once you are there, get ready to climb two rope lengths to reach the top!

It is a super cool landmark above Svolvær which provides stunning views as you rise.

We’ll begin with a 45-min hike from the nearby village to reach the base. This hike is an adventure in itself. Once there, we’ll climb two rope lengths to the top of this giant granite pillar. It is a challenging climb on a route grade of 5+. Experience the thrill as you scale!

The top offers jaw-dropping views of the deep blue Arctic waters and the spectacular chain of islands. We’ll rappel on our way back and descend to the village to mark an end to this incredible adventure.

And you don’t even need any special skills to mount this giant! As long as you have a fit body and a little climbing experience, you will be fine!

**I invite you to an alpine climbing course in Norway, exploring the most famous area in the Scandinavian Mountains.**

This course is intended for those who have a previous climbing experience, whether it’s in rock or ice climbing. In this case, by climbing experience I specifically mean **leading skills.**

I aim to help you **develop solid knowledge in alpine climbing**. In fact, there’ll be a theoretical part as well as an essential practical part in the mountains.

You are going to learn **how to become a leader** in your climbing team, and also to how to decide wisely in every step of a climbing trip (before, during and after).  The idea is that you turn into an **independent climber.** That way, you’ll be able to choose a climbing route even if you are in a remote area you don’t know, only by making an accurate research.

During this course we’ll be based in **Hemsedal**, a little alpine village surrounded by high peaks. Besides, we’ll be in **West Jotunheimen** (in an area called **Hurrungane),** where you can find the highest mountains in the country. Those are the places where we’ll improve our alpine climbing skills and also enjoy the beautiful nature environment.

We will not only have light, but also a lot of physical energy to tackle some superb climbs. I will adapt the course content to your preferences and needs.  Additionally, Lofoten has some beautiful towns and great food so it’s well worth touring over the span of a few days. Long ones at that.

The area of Jostedalen and Hurrungane is one of the best in Norway and has sharp peaks and huge vertical walls. Jostedalen is also a popular spot for outdoor activities such as rafting, hiking, skiing, glacier touring and more.

This introductory trip is perfect for participants with some experience who want to reinforce (or learn) alpine climbing concepts such as rope techniques, safety technology, abseiling and retreat, risk management and others.
