If you think you have had enough experience climbing rocks, then you haven’t been to Svolværgeita yet! Commonly known as the “goat” due to its unique two mountain horns, this 150- meter tall pinnacle in Lofoten, Norway is one of the most impressive rocks you can climb.
The half-day tour takes you through an amazing approach hike to the base of the pinnacle. And once you are there, get ready to climb two rope lengths to reach the top!
It is a super cool landmark above Svolvær which provides stunning views as you rise.
We’ll begin with a 45-min hike from the nearby village to reach the base. This hike is an adventure in itself. Once there, we’ll climb two rope lengths to the top of this giant granite pillar. It is a challenging climb on a route grade of 5+. Experience the thrill as you scale!
The top offers jaw-dropping views of the deep blue Arctic waters and the spectacular chain of islands. We’ll rappel on our way back and descend to the village to mark an end to this incredible adventure.
And you don’t even need any special skills to mount this giant! As long as you have a fit body and a little climbing experience, you will be fine!
So, what are you waiting for? Send me a request now to venture on one of the most dramatic climbs to the iconic Svolværgeita in Lofoten, Norway.
Would you also like to see the famous northern lights while you’re here in Norway? I guide this magical northern lights ski tour in the Lyngen Alps too!

I am an IFMGA mountain guide, originally from southern Finland. However, I have spent most of my time since 2010 in Northern Norway.
Completely in love with the scenery, nature, culture and the atmosphere, I'm spending as much time as possible exploring the mountains; be it on skis, climbing (summer/winter/alpine/ice&rock), mountain biking, kayaking or just hiking. Without being an expert in any particular one of these fields, my strength lies in finding the right adventure for the day, and spicing it up with local knowledge and the understanding of nature!
Needless to say, my main focus is to provide safe trips regardless of conditions and appropriate for participants' previous experience.
As it is in Scandinavian guiding tradition in general, I always try to teach my guests something!
I'm traveling quite a bit, a lot in Northern Norway and a bit in the mountains further away. My home base is in Lyngen, especially in the winter, but my home mountains extend from here to all the way to the Stetind area south of Narvik, including Lofoten, Senja and Kvaløya.
I'm guiding fluently in five languages: English, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and German, et mon France est un peu primitives.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
