This classic Via Ferrata in Cortina mixes water and adventure at the Fanes River.

It is a technically and physically easy Via Ferrata, crossing a gorge in the roar of waterfalls. Because of its breathtaking beauty, it is not inferior to its older brothers. Suitable especially for newcomers -even for families with children from 8 years old.

No country in the world has as many Via ferratas as Italy. They are undoubtedly one of the most characteristic aspects of the Dolomites: an outing on rocky terrain equipped with fixed wires that offers a mix between climbing and high altitude hiking.

Many of the routes date back to the First World War. Armies equipped the slopes with metal strings, ladders and sometimes bridges between ledges and passes, following the most practical route to the summit. Since then, the style of the ferratas has changed a lot. In the modern ones, more vertical and aerial passages are sought.

The charm of this activity also captures the less experienced climber who for the first time experiences the excitement of altitude. Not only that, you can ask for the easiest itineraries to make the kids feel the thrill of a well-equipped itinerary.

I guide this tour every Tuesday and on demand. Request to book this trip and join me for a fun day out in nature.

About the guide

IFMGA/UIAGM Guide from Sesto, Italy

For almost 150 years mountain guides from Sesto/Sexten have been taking enthusiastic people on the mountains. Their long-time tradition has seen famous alpinists and legendary first ascents.

We, the new generation of the Alpinschule Sexten – Drei Zinnen, also turned our big passion into our job. The fascination of the mountains urges us all year round onto the local Dolomites and around the globe. With our professional support your time spent on the mountains doubtlessly turns into an unforgettable experience.

I work together with a group of alpine IFMGA guides: Christian, Daniel, Hannes, Joe, Robert, Helmut and Felix. If I'm not available for your request, one of them will guide you!

Our trip with Herbert was fabulous! He was very accommodating, picking us up from our hotel and then dropping us off at the train station. The via ferrata itself was great, we had a blast. Herbert guided us well through the tougher sections. I felt safe and confident the entire time. We would absolutely book Herbert again, and I was very happy with explore-share. Thanks!
