Description

Join this 1 day trip to one of the best areas for alpine rock climbing in the United States: Katahdin.

This is a trip to test your abilities and challenge yourself. All the routes here are highly demanding. So you need to be in great shape to reach the summits.

Here are some examples of the routes we could tackle:
  • Armadillo Buttress-5.8, III: This is definitely the most popular route. It’s brimming with 3rd and 4th class ascents, chimneys, challenging flakes and fun cracks. You’ll pass a sharp ridgeline leading to the Knife Edge.

  • Chimney-5.6,II: This is the best route if you are not an expert in technical mountaineering climbs. It has a 2000’ couloir that is mildly technical and connects the Knife Edge to Chimney Pond.

  • Flatiron Buttress-5.9, III: The best cracks are here! You’ll also find 3rd and 4th class ridge that leads to the top of Katahdin

  • Pamola Four- 5.5 to 5.8, III: It has 7 to 12 pitches with abundant places to set belays, and the best views of Katahdin.

  • Baron’s Direct-5.7-5.8 III: It has a short and easy approach. You’ll find some loose rocks and crux sections easy to manage, great belay ledges and top notch quality rock

  • Hanta Yo- 5.8, III: One of the best routes in the north basin, as it’s also one of the biggest rock faces.

Why explore with a guide?

This trip is designed for those who want to experience alpine multi-pitch rock ascents, but lack either the confidence, personal skills or equipment to do it by themselves. Also, our guides will make sure everyone follows all the rules necessary to ensure your safety.

So don’t miss out on this great opportunity! Send us a request and let one of our AMGA-certified guides share different techniques and show you little secret spots in Katahdin.

And for winter lovers, we also offer this 2-day winter ascent to Mount Katahdin.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
