Whistler has become synonymous with unforgettable ski vacations, ranging from classic resort runs to the accessible off-piste terrain. With the 2010 Winter Olympics as part of its resume, it is now one of the premiere locations for unparalleled winter sports. Thanks to its proximity to Vancouver, travelers from far and wide can access its slopes and easily find the perfect backcountry extravaganza.
Your program puts you in the center of this winter wonderland. Whistler Blackcomb has a high volume of spectacular runs with glaciers, steep ridges, alpine bowls, and so much more. The most satisfying feature of your backcountry tour is the snow. The powder around Whistler Blackcomb is arguably some of the best in the world, and to ski it is an amazing experience.
I take pride in sharing my expertise with my guests. You can expect to learn a thing or two about snowpack, avalanche formation and safety, and an overall appreciation for top quality powder. The area is a great place to learn about managing weather and mountain conditions, all within the exciting fun of a unique backcountry skiing experience.
There are routes and runs for every level of backcountry skier, with classics like the Spearhead Traverse available for the most ambitious adventurers. The immense skiable region between Whistler and Blackcomb stretches well outside of the resort, so we will never run out of steep lines with pristine powder waiting to be discovered.
My goal is to give you a rewarding and satisfying trip that you will take with you long after leaving the mountain. You should have a general physical fitness and be prepared to handle a trip into the backcountry. A proficiency in off-piste skiing is necessary, though there are different levels and runs for every stripe of ski tourist.
Book this amazing ski touring program NOW and spend a day – or more! – in the delightfully perfect powder of Whistler and Canada’s Coast Mountains!
We can also take a few days ski touring around Duffy Lake to get even further away from the crowds!
