Description

This course is designed for moderately experienced ice climbers who would like to progress their skills. It will focus on steep climbing technique, multi-pitch climbing, and building ice anchors.

The clinic is usually held from 8AM to 4PM in Little Cottonwood Canyon or Provo Canyon, located 25 and 50 miles from Salt Lake City (4,327 ft), respectively. These are narrow icy canyons part of the Wasatch Range (11,928 ft), which extends 160 miles from the Utah-Idaho border, south through central Utah. However, I will select the venue based on the weather conditions, the size of the group, and guests’ goals.

I will begin the course by evaluating participants during a warm-up pitch, and then I will provide each of them with some tips and techniques to advance in their desired direction. Throughout the day we usually do a multi-pitch climb and rappel. During the climb, participants will be given the opportunity to build and equalize anchors.

Interested? Request to book this course now. Tell me about your ice-climbing experience and goals, and I will put together a program tailored just for you.

If you are looking for other winter activities in the area, check out the 2-day climbing expedition seminar and the 2-day splitboarding clinic in the Wasatch Mountains.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
