Description

Mount Katahdin, the highest peak in Maine and the northern end of the Appalachian trail, offers hundreds of exciting opportunities for rock climbing. On this amazing one-day trip, I'll take you to the beautiful Flatiron Buttress route to discover the wonders of the Northeast of the U.S.

Located in the beautiful Baxter State Park, the Flatiron Buttress route begins with the Armadillo Buttress, the most popular route on the mountain. The route then turns right. We'll be tackling 165 feet of the most incredible alpine climbing, a rare taste in the East, and enjoying the incredible views as well.

This route is a lot of fun, with exciting and approachable obstacles. Because the mountain freezes in the winter (it is also a popular spot for ice climbing), there are a lot of cracks that make climbing more easily. But there are also loose rocks. Make sure to bring a helmet.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide.
