1-day rock climbing program on the Mt Washington west ridge

Are you looking for a demanding rock climbing adventure in Oregon? Then get your gear ready and come join us in this 1-day trip through the west ridge route of Mt Washington. 

The Mount Washington (2377 m) is a beautiful peak located in a protected wilderness area with the same name, which is inside the Willamette National Forest. It forms part of the central area of the Cascade Mountain Range and its one of the most popular spots for outdoors activities in Oregon.

And we’ve designed a demanding but very beautiful trip which will take you through the mountains west ridge, which is one of the most sustained routes to access its peak.

So we’ll approach the mountain from the west, following the Pacific Crest Trail for quite a few miles. Once we reach the West Ridge’s rock climbing area we’ll gear up and start our proper climb. It will be a technical 6 to 8 pitches, with a grade 5.8 difficulty.

During all the way up we’ll be able to see the beautiful views from some very exposed positions. And once on the summit you’ll enjoy a 360 degree perspective of the surroundings.

So, after a little rest we’ll head back down through the North Ridge and into the Pacific Crest Trail again, to hike back to our starting point.
