Description

The Via Ferrata of Magliolo is a respectable climb and may be considered almost an alpine route. Better known as the Ferrata degli Artisti, because of the paintings made on its walls by the famous doctor and artist Mario Nebiolo, this renowned via ferrata is long, but not difficult.

Located near Finale Ligure, a famous climbing destination in the Italian Riviera, the Ferrata degli Artisti is set in a beautiful and wild environment. In a clear day, you can even enjoy some beatiful views of the Riviera .

The southern exposure makes it perfect for spring and autumn, but with the right conditions and/or the correct departure times of the ascent it may be done throughout the year.

With its 700 meters of height gain and 1500m of length, it follows a long reddish rock spur. During the climb you will go through many breathtaking sections and a spectacular tibetan bridge.

The via Ferrata ends on the top of Bric Agnellino (1335m), one of the most aerial points of the area from which you can see a fantastic 360° panorama from the Ligurian Sea to the Monviso(3841m).  This east-facing via ferrata offers an AD difficulty level.

We meet in Finale Ligure at about 8.00 am, but the time may change depending on the season. It takes about 30 minutes drive to get to Magliolo, where the trip begins. From the parking place it’s possible to reach the start of the via ferrata with a 30 minutes walk.

Climbing the route requires from 3,5 to 4,5 hours with the necessary breaks.
From the summit of Bric Agnellino, where the Ferrata degli Artisti ends, a 2-hour walk is required to get back to the car. From the parking place we shall be back to Finale Ligure in about 30 minutes.

Please note you need to have basic climbing skills and an average fitness level to join this program.

So if you would like to climb this great via ferrata, just send me a request. Join me and enjoy a unique climbing experience in the Via Ferrata degli Artisti. You could also have a look at my half-day rock climbing program in Finale Ligure.

Excellent experience! My guide Gigio was super nice and friendly, and in addition to nice climbing I also got some good technique lessons to improve my skills. Totally worth the money.
