One of the most exotic skiing destinations we can find in Norway are the Lofoten Islands: amazing sunsets, magical aurora borealis, skiing to the very edge of the sea, incredible fjords and majestic mountains!
Once known primarily for their fishing heritage, the Lofoten Islands boast a truly unique terrain—low-lying mountains ranging from 600 to 1,200 meters that rise abruptly into towering sea cliffs.
While not towering in height, these peaks offer outstanding skiing potential. Each day brings a new route, often starting right from sea level, with an incredible variety of options suited to all skill levels—from gentle ascents for soaking in the scenery to steeper, more technical descents that will thrill even the most experienced freeriders.
Throughout our 8-day journey, we’ll stay in traditional rorbuer—cozy, well-equipped fishermen’s cabins nestled along the coast. These charming lodges offer comfort and character, providing the perfect base to unwind after a day on the snow in this spectacular arctic setting.
So if you are ready for this amazing trip in the Lofoten Islands, request to book this trip!
Meeting point
Depart from Milan, Turin, Verona, or another airport convenient to participants, with low-cost flights to Evenes (Harstad–Narvik Airport). Upon arrival, transfer by rental car to Evenskjer and settle into a traditional rorbuer (fishermen’s cabin), where your Lofoten ski touring adventure begins.
Elevation gain: 736 m After breakfast, we head to Svolvær and leave our luggage before enjoying a quick snack. We then begin our first ski tour with an ascent of Sydalsfjellet—a gentle, scenic climb ideal for getting familiar with the area. The descent is pure plaisir: wide, flowing, and picturesque.
Elevation gain: 900 m Today, we climb the stunning Varden East. If conditions are favorable, we’ll continue across to Stortind, enjoying expansive views and a rewarding ridge traverse.
Elevation gain: 1,085 m We take on the dramatic Geitgaljetind, one of the most alpine and striking peaks in the Lofoten Islands. This is a highlight of the trip, both visually and technically.
A longer tour takes us to Langstrandstind, one of the most remote and peaceful summits in the area. This day is about immersion in wild landscapes and solitude.
Elevation gain: 755 m We skin up to Torskmannen, known for its wide, playful slopes—perfect for unleashing your turns. In the afternoon, we return to Evenskjer for our final night and prepare for the return journey.
Elevation gain: 930 m Transfer to Harstad and enjoy one last ski tour with a climb to Nonstinden in the Topptur area. Overnight stay in a hotel to rest and reflect on the week.
