Description

Langtang is a narrow valley in central Nepal, close to the border with Tibet. It runs east to west between the Himalayas mountain range (8,848m) to the north and other slightly lower snow-capped peaks to the south, within the Langtang National Park (1,710km2). Langtang is one of Nepal’s main trekking regions, although less visited than popular routes like Everest (8,848m) or Annapurna (8,091m).

During our trip, we will take a loop trail starting and ending in Kathmandu (1,400m), Nepal’s capital and largest city, located about 30 kilometers away from the Langtang Valley. Kathmandu is the city with more UNESCO World Heritage Sites, therefore it is a must-see! We will devote the first day of our journey to visit its bazaars, squares, and architectural treasures.

During the following days, we will trek across the valley’s forests and grasslands, enjoying views to a stunning backdrop of high snowy mountains, such as the Langtang Lirung (7,227m). We will climb some of the lower peaks in the area, reaching a maximum elevation of 4,350m, visit glaciers, and discover beautiful ethnic villages. Along the way, we will spend the nights in camping or in typical local teahouses for trekkers.

For your reference, below you will find a detailed itinerary of the program.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
