Tucked into the northwestern corner of Triglav National Park, on Slovenia’s border with Italy, Mount Jalovec is one of the highest and most scenic destinations in the whole country!

Rising to 2,645 meters in elevation, Jalovec is the sixth highest peak in Slovenia and provides incredible views of the tallest mountains in the Julian Alps, the Dolomites and the Austrian Hohe Tauern.

On a clear day, one can even see the Grossglockner, Austria’s highest peak.

Our adventure to the top of this mighty mountain begins shortly after we meet up at a pre-determined location and transfer to Vrsic pass (1,675 m).

From here, we will make an incredibly scenic approach above the Trenta valley and to the Zavetisce Pod Spickom mountain hut at 2,064 m. Expect to hike from 4 to 6 hours.

The following day is the highlight of the trip. Getting an early start, we will begin hiking, climbing and scrambling to the top. Though very little technical know-how is needed to make the ascent, a high level of physical fitness is required. It will take about 3 hours to get to the summit.

After spending some time at the top, marveling at the incredible views, we will begin the 5 hour descent back into the Tamar valley. The views on the way down are also quite good, so keep the cameras handy!

Easy to set up and find the perfect trip. Informative site that is easy to use. Guides are all great to work with and communicate all arrangements needed. As simple as can be!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
