2-day Rock climbing trip in Circo de Gredos, Avila

The Circo de Gredos is a spectacular glacial valley in the Sierra de Gredos located about 100 km west of Madrid. It forms part of the larger Sistema Central mountain range and has its highest peak at 2592m.

You will spend two days getting to know the various walls on offer in this beautiful setting with lakes, glaciers and mountain peaks all vying for your attention.

Starting the first day, we will head to the hostel where we will be spending the night and check in. Next, I will take you to some of the closest walls such as ‘El Escudo’ (The Shield) and ‘La Pared del Refugio’ (The Refuge Wall). Over 200m, in length they both provide various routes and different levels to attempt.

On the second day, I will lead us to higher parts of the glacial valley where there are more climbing options. The famous ‘Tres Hermanitos’ (Three Little Brothers) with its multiple routes is a possibility or there is the fun Risco Moreno with its 100m route.

After 20 years experience climbing and mountaineering I still feel the same passion as the first day. The opportunity to be in beautiful natural environments and practice these wonderful exercises is a blessing and I would love to share it with you.
