Highlights

  • Summit and ski descent from Aneto (3,404 m), the highest peak in the Pyrenees.
  • 2-day itinerary with overnight at Refugio de la Renclusa for optimal pacing and safety.
  • Route selection adapted to glacier and mountain conditions by a certified high-mountain guide based in Benasque.

Description

Aneto (3,404 m) is the highest mountain in the Pyrenees and one of the most sought-after ascents in the range. In winter, reaching its summit on skis is a true ski mountaineering objective. It is long, physically demanding, and set in serious alpine terrain.

From the Benasque Valley, we offer guided ski touring experiences across some of the most iconic peaks in the area, including Aneto, Maladetas and Pico del Alba. The itinerary is always adapted to the group’s level and to current mountain conditions.

The Aneto ascent is conducted as a mandatory 2-day program with an overnight at Refugio de la Renclusa. This format allows for a safer and better-paced progression toward a demanding summit. The ascent involves approximately 1,500 meters of elevation gain and around 10 to 12 hours of activity on summit day.

Living and guiding in the Benasque Valley allows the team to carefully evaluate glacier conditions, snowpack and weather in order to select the safest and most appropriate route. This is not a simple excursion. The glacier environment, high-altitude terrain and winter conditions make this one of the most serious and rewarding ski mountaineering objectives in the Pyrenees.

If you are a strong off-piste skier with solid fitness and you want to ski from the highest point in the Pyrenees, this is your objective.

Send a request to book your 2-day Aneto ski ascent and we will design the safest and most suitable plan according to current conditions.
