Join Marika, an IFMGA certified mountain guide, and get into the world of rock climbing in this 3-day course around the Sarca Valley, at northern Italy.
Spring is a beautiful season to get started in rock climbing. In this 3-day trip you will learn the basic skills of this amazing sport in a beautiful natural landscape: the Sarca Valley.
Arco is a comune of Trentino-Alto Adige, at north of Italy. The town is settled on the top of sheer limestone cliffs, at the south of Sarca Valley and the north end of Lake Garda. It offers a huge adventure area for rock climbers.
This area offers climbing spots for everyone, from single pitch sport routes to long multi-pitch routes, all perfectly cleaned and bolted. In this tour we will spend three days learning the basics: climbing techniques, safety, use of the equipment, knots, the difference between different types of gear, belaying techniques.
We can head up different climbing routes, depending on the weather and your wishes. Muro dell’Asino, for example, is perfectly suited for beginners and those wishing to make their first leading steps. Placche di Baone is a band of limestone that lying at the south side base of Monte Baone and offering mainly grip-based climbing with a spectacular view of Arco and Lake Garda.
The final day we can try something more challenging like the Spigolo Nascosto route in Santa Massenza. It is a seven pitches climbing line with some bolts but mainly threads and trees as protections.
Arco has a long tradition of rock climbing: the first international climbing competition was hosted here in 1986. Nowadays it hosts every year the “Rock master”.
Furthermore, there is a varied offer of hotels, shops and restaurants all over
Arco-town, so a charming vacation is guaranteed.

I was born in Bozen and I have been living all my life long in Fassa Valley, Dolomites. That's why my native language is ladin, a reto-romanic language spoken around Sella.
My big passion besides traveling is mountains and guiding because I love to show the people the beauty of the mountains.
I was a member of the Italian National Alpine Ski from 1990 to 1997 when I became Ski Instructor. In 2009
I became an IFMAG Mountain guide. I guide in the Dolomites, Sarca valley, Sizialian vulcanoes, Ortles Cevedale area, and Sardinia.

We started climbing with her 5 years ago in Alto Adige and we organized a week every summer since then (5 torri, Col Rodella, Forcella del Sassolungo, Marmolada and many others). She is extremely professional with strong empathy skills. Outstanding teaching and climbing capabilities. She managed to guide us and our kid in challenging experiences but always in absolute safety conditions!

I\'ve done many climbs with Marika, always in perfect safety and with extreme pleasure. Taking into account that I am now 67 I can say that with her I always feel like a little girl. Her exuberance and sympathy, her safety in manoeuvring make even the most demanding climbs a real fun. Among the many climbs made with Marika, I remember with greater pleasure the wonderful climb to the corner of the first Tofana di Rozes in August 2016.
