The simple approach of just over 30 minutes makes Via Pia a suitable first route without too much effort. For those who climb at ease on the 6th/b Via Pia offers a fun climb with always excellent rock. For those who prefer a route with less difficulties, we will stay a few meters further to the left on Via Dallago.
The whole climb takes place in front of a wonderful panorama and from the top you can see the most beautiful mountains of the Dolomites with a single glance: Civetta, Pelmo, Marmolada and Tofana!
We will follow the trace of one of the most daring climbs of end of the 1800s: the Finkura Winkler, a solo route climbed by Georg Winkler at the age of 17, when shoes and magnesite were just science fiction! The rock is always of great quality and the environment of the Torri del Vajolet is one of the most characteristic of the Dolomites.
The area of Passo Sella is ideal for short days, maybe of uncertain weather or for the last day when tiredness starts to be felt and we need to face the return journey lateer. The route we propose is Delenda Cartago, 180 meters of beautiful rock with holes in the 6th and a 6b step, with a beautiful view of the Fassa valley. The route is on the first Torre di Sella, an excellent panorma view point to admire the Sasso Lungo!

My name is Piergiorgio. I was born in the warm south of Italy and grew up in Florence where I first started climbing.
At the age of 21 I graduated with a degree in Forestry and Environmental Sciences, yet rock climbing had energized my life in such a positive way that I realized that I had to live fully in the vertical world.
It was then that radically transformed my life to pursue my dream of becoming a Mountain Guide and so I moved to Torino to gain the experience and skills required to pass the rigors of my trade.
I'm an IFMGA Mountain Guide.
Join me! I can’t wait to share my greatest passion with enthusiasm and awareness in my favorite environments. After gaining experience and increasing my ability in each discipline, I participated in the IFMGA Aspirant Mountain Guides course and graduated in 2017. Nowadays, my greatest passion is to share with enthusiasm and awareness the most incredible environment: our Alps.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
