If you are a beginner in alpine sport climbing, we have a course just for you! Crafted especially for the newbies in the sport, this 4-day Mount Kinabalu training cannot be missed.

The trip will begin at 6.30 AM from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu. From there, we’ll take you to the Kinabalu Park and after registration, drive towards the start of the climb. A good climb of about 4 hours takes us to Pendant Hut, where you’ll halt to have packed lunch. And then begins our fun training at 3.30 PM.

The first day entails to course theory. You will get to learn the basics of the sport here. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing until you have your dinner at Laban Rata Canteen.

The next day, you’ll wake up early at 6 AM and after having breakfast and gorging on a beautiful sunrise, begin with our practical session titled “Course Theory or Practical Session – depending on weather and participant condition”. It will be a long session of 9 hours with small breaks where you will gain some hands-on experience about the sport.

The following day, you’ll follow a similar routine and attend another session of the same course. Thereafter you’ll discuss the assessment result with your trainer.

Although this is just training, you will not go home until you climb the summit of Mount Kinabalu. On the final day, we’ll start early at about 1. 30 AM and set out on our journey to the top. Equipped with nothing but our torchlight, we’ll climb for a good 3 hours to reach the summit just in time to see a spectacular sunrise and head back to Pendant Hut.

Afterward, you’ll pack up and check out of the hut by 8.30 AM and descent to Timpohon Gate to collect your certificates before we drop you off to your hotel.

I’m extremely happy with the ease with which I could book via your site reliable and experienced guide. Thank you so very much, and I’ve started to recommend your site to my friends. Dimitris is not only an awesome guide, but a wonderful person who was always looking out to give me the best experience I can have when he found out how much I love climbing! He is the Best!

I am very pleased with Explore-Share! This was my first international climb, and the communication and response time were great. Herbie is a very skilled guide and very efficient. The entire booking process & payment was smooth. I will definitely use Explore-Share again. Thank you.

I was looking for a local guide for a hike I was planning and came across Explore-Share. They seemed to have good reviews and so decided to give them a try. The experience was very positive and completely happy with their service. I will be using them again for next trip.

Easy to set up and find the perfect trip. Informative site that is easy to use. Guides are all great to work with and communicate all arrangements needed. As simple as can be!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
