Explore the Ausangate peak in Peru with a local guide
Discover many enchanting towns and learn about the culture
Visit stunning mountain passes, lakes, lagoons and thermal waters
One of the highlights of this trip is that we will reach many breathtaking mountain passes, like Paso de Arapa (4,850m). So the views we’ll get from there, are hypnotizing. Also, we will trek through different towns and pastures. Some of the towns we’ll visit are Tinqui (3,800m), Q’ampa (5,000m) and Pacchanta. And, we’ll drive by other equally enchanting places like Urcos, Cattca and Ocangate. Thus, we will get the chance to meet locals and learn about their culture and traditions, surrounded by mesmerizing sceneries.
Moreover, we will visit dazzling mountain lakes and lagoons. For instance, we will stop by the green lake of Puqa Q’ocha. Then, we will head to an impressive turquoise lagoon, Ausangate Q’ocha, where we’ll set camp for the night under a splendid bed of stars.
What’s more, we will enjoy the sights of other beautiful mountains such as Picos Tres and Punta Puca, and wonderfull valleys like the Pampa Verde Jutunpata and the Río Q’ampa. And, if we are lucky, we’ll run into some curious animals that inhabit the area. Plus, if you’re up for it, we can relax inside thermal waters surrounded by lovely peaks and a clear sky.
This trekking trip is recommended for people that wish to acclimatize, or want to accomplish higher goals. There are different peaks in the Arequipa area that rise above 6,000 meters. So it is the perfect trip to prepare if you wish to reach the summit of any of them.
