Enjoy the most stunning Patagonian scenery with your skis on with this 7-day ski touring trip in Bariloche!

During this ski touring trip, you’ll get to ski some of best backcountry terrain in Cerro Catedral (2405 meters). You’ll also skin up to reach Refugio Frey and, once there, pick and choose between the different slopes and chutes around the hut. You’ll have the time of your life!

With the Nahuel Huapi Lake as a backdrop, it’s impossible not to fall in love with Bariloche and its surroundings. Cerro Catedral and the Lake District are probably among the most breathtakingly beautiful areas in the world. Snow-capped mountains, deep blue lakes and magical mountain huts make for perfect pictures that will stay engraved in your mind forever.

Experience Patagonia at its best with this amazing 7-day ski touring trip. I was born and raised in Bariloche, so come enjoy all of my favorite spots!

Visit during the months of August and September to find the best snow and weather conditions. You need to be an expert skier and, additionally, be in very good physical condition to take this trip. I can take between 2 and 4 people on the tour.

Also, if you’d like to experience the Patagonia to the fullest, be sure to check out my 8-day ski touring program in Chile’s volcanoes and this ski tour in El Chalten for a week.

    About the Guide

Certified UIAGM-IFMGA Mountain Guide from Argentina.

I live in El Chaltén since 1998. I'm originally from Bariloche and I started with mountain activities when I was 15 years old. I've done climbing and ascents in many mountains of Patagonia, Perú, Bolivia, United States and Europe; such as Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre, Alpamayo, El Capitán, Mont Blanc and Aconcagua among others. I'm also a Ski Instructor and I am passionate for backcountry ski.

I speak fluent English, Italian and French and have been leading trips and expeditions for more than 20 years. I work together with a group of guides, so if I'm not available for the trip you request, one of my colleagues will guide you!

Merlin was a fabulous guide! Not only is he a super accomplished climber, but he is also personable and fun to spend the day with. We have some climbing experience, and Merlin selected sport climbing that was a fun challenge for our skill level. We 100% recommend him as a guide.
