Are you ready for a once-in-lifetime experience? Then join me on this amazing 7-day sailing and hiking tour around the Westfjords of Iceland.
We will sail the ocean aboard our polar sailboat Aurora Arktika to visit the beautiful Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, probably the wildest region of Iceland.
This rugged peninsula, located just below the Arctic Circle, was inhabited by farmers and fishermen until the 1950s. Uninhabited for more than 60 years, Hornstrandir was converted into a Nature Reserve. It is still quite inaccessible: the only way to get there is by boat.
Aboard Arktika, we will arrive at Hornstrandir. We will set anchor in a new place every day. You will find lush valleys filled with wildflowers, beautiful sandy beaches, fjords and cliffs. The trails, surrounded by incredible vegetation, will lead us to belvederes and walkways from which we’ll enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and the sea.
In addition, there are more than 50 species of birds, two species of seals and 12 species of whales in this area. It is also the kingdom of the Arctic fox, which is usually quite relaxed around humans. So if you like to photograph animals, you’ll definitely get a chance during this trip!
In Hornstrandir we can visit, among other places: Vigur Island, the ghost town of Hesteyri, the bays of Aðalvík and Hornvík and dozens of magnificent cliffs. At the end of each day, the Arktika expedition ship will await us with gourmet meals and comfortable bunk beds.
To get to the meeting point, you should take a plane from Reykjavik to Ísafjörður. In the port of Ísafjörður we will board Arktika. We will sleep on the sailboat to begin the adventure on the next day: we will enjoy 7 exciting days of sailing and hiking. And at the end of the trip, you will take a plane back to Reykvavik.
So, if you are excited about adventure and wildlife, this tour is for you! Contact me and let’s start planning your sailing and hiking trip in Iceland! I am sure that you will remember this tour for the rest of your life!
I also offer a sail and hike tour around Greenland’s East Coast. If you are interested, you can take a look at my 7-day sail and hike tour in Greenland.

What happens if I need to cancel the trip?
If you decide to cancel, you’ll get a 100% refund (minus fees) if the cancellation is notified up to 60 days before the start of the tour, a 75% refund (minus fees) if you cancel between 59 and 30 days before the start of the tour, and a 50% refund if you cancel between 29 and 21 days before the start of the tour. If you cancel less than 21 days before the first day of the tour, you won’t receive a refund. Take into account, however, that if accommodation, flights or transfers were included in the trip you booked, then a different policy may apply as the guide will be bound by the provider’s cancellation policy.
What happens if the guide cancels the trip because of bad weather/unsuitable conditions?
If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the guide to cancel the trip, he or she will: a) propose a similar activity at a different place where conditions are better, or b) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or c) cancel. If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).
What happens if the guide doesn’t show up or cancels for personal reasons?
If the guide cancels for reason of injury or other, you will get a 100% refund on your trip.

About the Guide
UIAGM/IFMGA Mountain Guide since 2003
The mountain brought us together in the 90's and currently it also brings us together with my guide friends: Stéphane, Christian and Jean Luc, who is mountain leader.
Our passion has allowed us to do a great job: being mountain guides.
After having guided for over 10 years in Verbier, we decided to establish a guide's office that allows us to sell trips, ski touring days, heliskiing here and elsewhere, mountaineering, and all those things that are possible to do with a mountain guide.
We are also colleagues in the specialized team of rescuers "Maison FXB Rescue" and it is with pleasure that we offer advanced training courses, avalanche courses, crevasse rescue, the management of injured people…
From all this, the main objective is to enjoy as much time as we can in the mountain with you in the most beautiful places in the world with a single slogan: “Safety!”
It will be a pleasure to share a moment with you!
