Description

Magical would probably be the best word used to describe the amazing Thracian Valley in Bulgaria. And, on this 8-day hiking adventure, you will get to explore this amazing valley to your heart’s content.

Located in the Rhodopes Mountains of Bulgaria, the Thracian Valley is full of amazing highlights you will never forget. Some examples of what you’ll get to see during this 8-day adventure includes the ancient city of Perperikon, where the famed temple of Dionysius is believed to be, the sanctuary of Tatul and Belintash, the Rila monastery and the Bachkovo monastery, Koprivshtitsa and much more. You will also have the opportunity to explore the wonderful capital city of Sofia as well.

At the end of each day during this trip, you will get to spend your nights in a comfortable guesthouse. Thus providing you with a great place to rest, relax and prepare for the following day’s hike.

While not a difficult trekking trip, it is important that participants are in good physical condition, as we will be hiking a lot, every day.

Filled with so much history, the Thracian Valley is an awe-inspiring area to visit and explore. I have no doubt you’ll have an amazing time over this trip’s 8-day duration. To join me, please send a request. I look forward to guiding you.

I also offer a 3-day ski touring trip in the oldest resort area in Bulgaria: Borovets.

About the guide

I was born in the mountains and fell in love with them since I was a little kid. My father was an alpinist and I grew up surrounded by lots of mountaineering books from the family library. I love staying in and moving through a natural environment, no matter if on skis, crampons, bike, climbing or running shoes.

I started guiding in 2016 and I haven't stopped since then. What a great chance to turn my passion into my job! I'm a certified mountain guide in Bulgaria, climbing instructor and ski instructor. I'm working together with a great team of IFMGA and UIMLA certified guides. We work at Climbing and Mountaineering School in Sofia, where we give climbing courses.

We guide in all the Bulgarian mountains and abroad. In summer, we offer rock climbing, trail running and mountaineering tours; in winter, ski touring, freeriding, ice and mix climbing.

I look forward to sharing mountain adventures together!

We had a very good climbing experience with our guide Kiril in the Rila mountains! Even though we were on different levels and had to change plans, Kiril always had an option at hand! Wouldn't want to miss a minute! Thank you so so much!

Musala Peak is a good day out in the mountains, fairly straightforward, with the option of including a section of technical ridge if wanted. Various options to ski down. Kiril was great - good communication and preparation, I felt confident in his ability, and he made sure it was a good day out. Would definitely recommend Kiril. Explore-Share were great for linking me up with Kiril.
