Mount Musala, Bulgaria, Guided Hiking Tour

With so many great peaks to explore and scale in Bulgaria, it’s hard to choose which one to climb. So on this trip, I’m proposing a full day hiking trip to the top of the highest mountain in the Balkans, Mount Musala (2,925m).

Located in the Rila mountains of Bulgaria, Mount Musala is a gorgeous peak. And on this full day hike you will get to make your way to its spectacular summit. And from that summit, you will get to see several of the country’s mountain ranges, including Vitosha, Sredna Gora, the Balkin mountains, the Rhodope mountains, the Pirin mountains and, of course, the Rila mountains.  Being able to see that much from a single summit is an extravagant opportunity, and I would be happy to guide you to it.

This hike will begin in the beautiful Bulgarian capital city of Sofia. From there, we will take a 1.5 hour transfer to Borovets. After that, we will make our way to the top station after a scenic gondola ride to an altitude of (2,300m). Finally, we will take an easy hike to the Musala hut and the first lakes. The views from this area will be panoramic and sensational.

Since this hike is fairly easy, with no technical aspects, participants do not need any previous experience. However, you should be in good physical condition.
