Come along on the legendary Spaghetti Tour, a 5-day high-altitude adventure across the heart of the Monte Rosa massif!

This demanding route links eight iconic 4,000m peaks, including Western Breithorn (4,165m), Castor (4,225m), the Lyskamm Nose (4,272m), Piramide Vincent (4,215m), Balmenhorn, Ludwigshöhe, Punta Gnifetti (4,554m), and Zumsteinspitze (4,563m).

Starting from Zermatt and traversing into Italy’s Aosta Valley, you'll spend each night in remote high-altitude huts, including a final overnight stay in the Regina Margherita Hut, the highest refuge in Europe.

This adventure is best suited for well-trained mountaineers with solid fitness, glacier travel experience, and previous climbs above 4,000 meters.

    • 5 days of guidance by a certified alpine instructor
    • Accommodation for the alpine guide with half-board (dinner and breakfast)

    • The alpine guide’s lunches (to be shared among participants)

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Day 1

    Ascent: 300m, Total duration: 4 hours Meet in Zermatt or at the Klein Matterhorn cable car terminal (exact location shared via WhatsApp) for gear check and briefing. Ascent via Breithorn Pass to the summit of Western Breithorn (4,165 m). Descent under the Breithorn’s chain and Pollux to reach Verra Pass and down to Rifugio Guide d’Ayas - Lambronecca (3,400 m). Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 2: Day 2

    Ascent: 800m, Total duration: 5–6 hours Climb the West Face of Castor (4,225 m). From the summit, enjoy panoramic views from Monte Rosa to Mont Blanc. Descend along a snow ridge and steep slope to Felik Pass, then across Felik Glacier to Rifugio Quintino Sella (3,575 m). Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 3: Day 3

    Ascent: 800 m Duration: 6–8 hours

    Trek 2 hours across the Western Lys Glacier before ascending the Lyskamm Nose (4,272 m). Descend to the Eastern Lys Glacier and continue toward Piramide Vincent (4,215 m). Reach Rifugio Gnifetti (3,647 m).

    Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 4: Day 4

    Ascent: 1,500 m Duration: 6–7 hours

    Climb multiple 4,000 m peaks: Balmenhorn (4,167 m), Ludwigshöhe (4,341 m), and finally Punta Gnifetti (4,554 m), where the Regina Margherita Hut — the highest in Europe — is located.

    Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 5: Day 5

    Ascent: 200m, Descent: 2,062m, Total duration: 10–11 hours Early start to ascend Zumsteinspitze (4,563 m), the final 4,000 m peak. Descend via Grenzgletscher to the Monte Rosa Hut, then continue down to Rotenboden and return to Zermatt by train. Alternatively we can reach Staffal (Gressoney) descending using the Punta Indren’s cable car. (For those starting and returning to Cervinia: lift from Zermatt to Cervinia)

    All mountain huts have been pre-booked by Adventure Dreamers, including the deposit.

    The remaining balance must be paid no later than 1 month before the event start date.

    • Prior experience at altitudes above 4,000 m
    • Excellent physical condition for sustained, high-intensity effort
    • Ability to manage significant elevation gains over 5 consecutive days

    • Sunglasses (min. category 3, ideally 4), sunscreen, hat, warm layer
    • Two pairs of snow gloves, thermos or water bottle (based on temps)
    • 30–40L backpack
    • Waterproof high-ankle mountaineering boots

    FAQs

    What experience and how fit do I need to be to climb this mountain? Is this program suitable for children or older people?

    Good physical condition is required to join this trip. You need to be a trained person who

    practices sports even at a non-competitive level. Ability to tackle summer trekking with around

    1300/1500 m of altitude difference without too much effort. No technical mountaineering or

    glacier skills are required.

    Will I need to bring any technical equipment of my own? Is it possible to rent equipment, and if so, what would be the approximate cost of that?

    Yes, you need to bring Harness, ice axe, crampons and helmet.

    In case you don't have them, we offer rental service.

    The request for rental equipment must be communicated in good time, at least one week before

    the start of the event.

    However, we recommend communicating this when purchasing the event. The guide will bring all

    the equipment directly to the event.

    What clothes and equipment should I bring for the trip?

    Winter mountain clothing (“onion” clothing recommended, i.e. with various layers to be adjusted

    based on the temperature:

    • thermal underwear
    • fleece or soft shell type layer
    • waterproof jacket in GoreTex membrane or similar
    • warm down jacket or similar
    • Semi-waterproof trousers in soft-shell membrane or similar
    • Waterproof trousers in Gore-Tex or similar (not essential)
    • Hat or headband
    • two pairs of snow gloves (one lighter and one heavier)
    • ski mask with clear lenses (fog) + sunglasses (at least cat.3)
    • UV protection cream
    • RIGID high-ankle waterproof mountain boots (high-ankle trekking boots for universal crampons

    are also suitable, therefore without inserts for semi- or automatic crampons).

    Can I join a group? Which is the group size?

    Yes, we organize several group dates every season. Groups are of Maximum 3 people per

    guide, and minimum 2 people per guide. You can book a private guide with a different price.

    The reality of "Adventure Dreamers" was born thanks to the crossing of paths of 4 boys who share the same passions: travels, mountains, skiing, climbing and sailing. Alessandro is a Roman entrepreneur, passionate about skiing and sailing. He takes care of the marketing and management of the site. Caterina, an educator who grew up in Bologna, loves working in contact with people and traveling the world. Luca, an all-round mountaineer, has chosen to live in the mountains, embarking on a career as a mountain guide. Jacopo, a mountain guide, yoga teacher and indology's student. Together with Caterina she takes care of the organization and management of events.
