Come and spend 2 days climbing the famous Gran Paradiso peak in the Italian Graian Alps with one of the IFMGA-certified guides in the Peakshunter team.
Private and Group
Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct
The Gran Paradiso (4,061m) is one of the highest peaks in the Italian Graian Alps and the only mountain over 4000 meters that has the entirety of its summit within Italy. The peak is located in the Gran Paradiso National Park, one of the best-known parks in Italy, founded in 1922 to safeguard the biodiversity of one of the wildest areas in Italy.
The view of the Gran Paradiso is amazing from any vantage point. But the view from the summit of this mountain is absolutely stunning. And from its pinnacle you will immediately see how much it has earned its name, as you will be able to see a great deal of the gorgeous Alps, including the nearby, legendary Mont Blanc (4,810m).
The Gran Paradiso is considered one of the easiest of the Alps' 4000 meter peaks to climb. However some mountaineering experience is needed because the final ascent has some rocky terrain and the recent changes in the glacier morphology require very good confidence in using crampons on an iced and very steep itinerary.
On day 1 we will spend 2 to 3 hours walking up to the Chabod Hut (2,710). On day 2 we will make the exciting climb to the summit of this beautiful mountain before making our way back down. The climbing time should take between 8 to 10 hours, including the descent.
The Gran Paradiso is a magnificent mountain. And because of the relative ease that comes with climbing it, its magnificence is readily accessible. Please send us a message if you want to summit this amazing peak!
We also offer a 2 day climb of Mont Velan located on the border between Italy and Switzerland.

The ascent could be organized till the end of October: at the refuge closing time (end of September), it will be possible to make the 2 days ascent, staying in the winter refuge (very comfortable, with wood stove and beds with blankets provided + all furnished kitchen tools). For this solution, meals are not included in the price and some extra fees may be applied depending on conditions.
Please keep in mind that there is an 8% of the fee that is non-refundable regardless of the cancellation conditions due to hut charges and administrative fees.
From the Pravieux Valsavarenche parking lot (1,830 m), we follow the path in the woods that make our way into the valley and lead to the Chabod Hut. During the walk, we enjoy the wildlife of Gran Paradiso National Park.
At 3 a.m. we wake up and take the Normal Route from the Chabod Hut (2,710 m), following a moraine ridge up to the Laveciau Glacier (3,200m). At the distinctive “Schiena d’Asino” (Donkey’s Back) we take a short break, then ascend the col of the Becca di Moncorvé and continue towards the bergschrund. A brief but demanding final ridge is all that separates us from the statue-clad summit.

Explore share were easy to work with and their outsourced guides “Peakshunter” were absolutely amazing. Our guides ELIS MARTIS and ALESSANDRO BELTRAMI were amazing they made the trip so much better. They were patient, professional and really knowledgable.
Although we didnt summit due to weather, the entire experience was wonderful! really well done by peakshunter and our guide matteo!
Hi Explore-Share, I really loved the overall experience during the summit of the wonderful Gran Paradiso. I got to meet new people who were also like-minded, and understand each other and helping along the way. In particular, I must say the guidance offered by our team leader Simone and Fabio were really important, to understand the safety measures and technical challenges along the way. They also gave key insights into the terrain, weather and adapting to the changes accordingly. Of course, for me being in the mountaineering field as a hobby for 20 years now, it was still helpful and I learned new things. I would really want to come back again to this experience and re-live it with you all over again. Special thanks to Fabio who dropped me all the way from Valsavarenche to Ivrea with a special shot of coffee he made in his car. :) Best regards, Arjun Srivatsa
Great climb of Gran Paradiso with Piercarlo. Truly unique character and great guide.
Very good service. Made everything very easy and relaxed
You simply the best!!! :)))
Great service from Ellis at Peaks Hunter. However actually getting information from explore share seemed tricky and and lengthy process.
Exploro share Take care and help us with any question. Always on time and generous The guide is excellent, I would be happy if he didn't bother too much with our religion and belief, and gave us a good feeling. But he was very professional.
The route was wonderful as was the refuge. We received good initial contact from peakshunter but then nothing until late. And the guide we were allocated was very capable but had limited English. He was good on the way up but moved very quickly and impatiently on the way down.
Trip was organized well, communication with the guide and agency was great! Andrea, our guide, is an amazing person, he ensured we have everything we need, both in the mountain hut and on the trail. Helped us and motivated to get to the summit. 100% recommended. Thank you!
Hi, it was a great trip. What could have been better: We started the first day hike too late, about 16:30. It would have been better to have more time to acclimatise and rest before the ascent. Second, the group was a bit heterogeneous. Some were frustrated because we reached the cole too late and the summit was crowded. Otherwise, it was very good. Thanks.
such a great time. Thanks for the fun ride.
