Rising to 4,061 meters above sea level, Gran Paradiso is one of the Alps' most iconic summits.
Situated in the Graian Alps, between the Piedmont and Aosta valleys, the peak is the perfect challenge for novice mountaineers.
Over the course of our two days together, we will conquer the summit of this imposing peak, enjoying phenomenal views and great climbing along the way.
The adventure begins after we meet up in Valsavarenche, in the Aosta Valley, on day one.
After briefly going over the itinerary and checking our gear, we will begin a two hour trek through the woods until we reach either the Federico Chabod refuge or Vittorio Emanuele refuge.
Getting an early start the next morning, we will hike until we reach the foot of the glacier. Once we do, the fun really begins as we traverse the Lavacieu glacier.
Once we've reached the top of this glacier, it's just a quick scramble to the summit where we will enjoy impeccable views of Mont Blanc, the Écrins, Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and the rest of the Alps.
Once we've had out fill of the summit we will head back down to the mountain hut and then Valsavarenche.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this incredibly fun and scenic 2-day mountaineering trip to the top of Gran Paradiso!
If you like the look of this trip then I think you may also enjoy my 2-day mountaineering expedition to the summit of Barre des Écrins in neighbouring France!

Born in 1983, grown in Brusson, I ran for the Aosta Valley regional team of Biathlon until the age of 19.
In 2002 I left home to continue my studies in France and later in Belgium, during this time I was offered for a job in Milan.
This way started a journey inside television channels and post-production companies, where I get skilled and specialize in 2D and 3D animation, editing and compositing.
2010 is the year of change: sick of the hectic life and the work system of big companies, I take the decision to come back to Aosta Valley. During that time I also started to approach asana practice and a personal study in Vedantic Philosophy. My personal challenge was to turn my passion for the sports and the mountains into a new job and I started to realize this life plan. In 2016 I achieve the title of Aspirant Mountain Guide and in 2019 I can finally fulfill my dream, becoming an IFMGA Mountain Guide and qualified Yoga teacher in the really traditional Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham, Kadaleevanam, Kodakkad Village in the South of India.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
