Description

The Aiguille Dibona (3130m) is a breathtaking peak in the Massif des Ecrins and one of the finest spires in the world. Join me on this 1-day tour and reach the summit of this famous needle in France.

The famous alpinist Gaston Rebuffat defined the Aiguille Dibona as “a monument of stone given to mankind by the Earth and the time, an extraordinary sculpture in the sky, the light and the silence of Oisans”. You will be amazed by the view of this spectacular triangular granite spear, after walking through the Soreiller gorges.

Climbing the Aiguille Dibona is always an amazing adventure. You will enjoy wonderful views and a unique experience on exceptional rock. I am an experienced guide and I also work as a guardian at the Soreiller Hut, on the way to the Dibona summit, therefore I know this peak and this area like the back of my hand. I will guide you on a great and safe climbing tour.

Hiking to the Soreiller Hut will take you about 3 to 4 hours from the hamlet of Étages, located 3 km before La Bérarde in high Veneon, a valley of Oisans Massif, in the Isère department. You would hike to the hut by yourself and I will be waiting for you in the refuge. It will be an altitude difference of 1100 meters.

Then, on the second day we will climb to the summit of the Aiguille Dibona.  We will ascend by the North ridge. It will take us about 3 hours. In order to join this ascent you need to have basic climbing skills (Level 3 in France). If you’d prefer to climb to the hut accompanied by me, then check out my Aiguille Dibona 2-day climbing tour.

Due to its easy access, outstanding shape and amazing quality of its granite, the Aiguille Dibona is very popular among climbers. The peak was renamed in honour of the great alpine guide Angelo Dibona, the first climber to reach the summit of the mountain. It was formerly known as Pain de Sucre du Soreiller.

If you find this proposal tempting, just send me a request. Book your trip and join me on this amazing ascent to the spectacular Aiguille Dibona. If you have more time available, you could also check the rock climbing tour I guide in Les Calanques, Marseille.

Guide was good, skiing was mediocre but that is because of snow conditions which can't be helped.

The conditions were hard, a lot of wind and some cloud layers downside. Quentin managed to keep the group together and drove us trough deep powder on the lower parts of Alpe d'huez since La Grave was closed. It is an excellent guide with huge human skills ! We loved our journey with Quentin and are sure we will ride together again soon

Great time with Quentin, a guide as we like. Professional, human and super nice. I have already done several routes in mountain et ice climbing (Dents du Geant, tour ronde in the corridor Gervasutti, le Rateau ouest, ...) and every time a beautiful human adventure. Seb

Quentin is simply an awesome guide. It was one of my first climbing experiences and Quentin helped me feel safe. He is very professional and knows how to manage groups of people. Despite the changes in our project, Quentin always tried to accomodate the best options for the group. His experience and knowledge of the mountain gave confidence to each group member. The fact that he is both physiotherapist and guide is a great advantage, regarding physical preparation and stretching for example. Thanks Quentin! And see you next year on top of the Mont-Blanc!

Quentin is a great guide. I really learned a lot about the mountains when I ski touring with him. I felt safe all the time and also had great fun !
