On this exhilarating Alpamayo climb, you will have the chance to summit one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, in the stunning Cordillera Blanca of Peru!

At 5,947m, Alpamayo is one of the most gorgeous peaks in the Peruvian Andes. This world-famous mountain is admired for its perfect pyramid shape. On this 6-day adventure, we will climb this Andes looker via the French direct route, which is the most common and recommendable. You can find a detailed itinerary below.

You will test yourself by facing the challenge of climbing a mountain as beautiful as it is difficult. Keep in mind you will need prior mountain climbing experience and an excellent fitness level.  Of course, I will be there to help and guide you on the way.

Itinerary

Day 1: Departure from Huaraz

We leave Huaraz at about 6:00 AM to go to Caraz. Then, to Cashapampa, from there we will hike approximately 5 hours to Llamacorral where we will camp, have dinner, and rest.

Day 2: Alpamayo Base Camp

In Llamacorral, the hike to the base camp of Alpamayo begins. From there we can appreciate the beautiful lagoons of Ichiccocha and Hatuncocha. Later, we will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Morraine Camp

Departure at 9:00 AM to Morraine camp 5000m.

Day 4: Alpamayo and Quitaraju cross

On the way to high camp at 5400m, we will cross the Alpamayo and Quitaraju mountains. Once there, we will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Alpamayo Summit Day

Departure at midnight to  Alpamayo summit in about 7 hours. Once there, we will have a wonderful view of the Pucahircas, Rinrihircas, Taullirajum, Artesonraju, and Santa Cruz mountains. Later, the three-hour descent to high camp begins. There, we will take a break for an hour. Then, we continue descending to the base camp to have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 6: Return to Huaraz

At 7:00 AM, we will leave the base camp to go to Cashapampa where the private transport is waiting to take us back to Huaraz.
