Description

The walls of Cerro Penitentes look like a cathedral. Its rocky formations play to resemble the monks in a “penitent” attitude, giving the name to this hill.

We can find small Inca stones while approaching to the summit and once in the top we will enjoy the view of the stunning Cerro Aconcagua and its surrounding mountains.

This expedition will take 3 days and here I leave the itinerary of the program in Cerro Penitentes.

DAY 1: MEET IN MENDOZA, TRANSFER TO PENITENTES AND TRAILHEAD

Once in Penitentes foot, we start the hike up crossing Las Cuevas River and set our camp to dinner and rest.

DAY 2: QUEBRADA DE VARGAS

In the morning we leave towards the base camp at 3.200 meters in Quebrada de Vargas. Set up the camp, dinner and rest.

DAY 3: SUMMIT ATTEMPT

Mountain Leader

EPGAMT Mountain guide from Argentina.

The mountain is my workplace and space to enjoy what I like to do ... mountaineering.

I climbedd and promoted various mountains and volcanoes such as: Aconcagua , Ojos del Salado, Pissis , Walter Penck , Incahuasi, Plata, Rincon, Vallecitos , etc.

The mountain can find oneself, to rediscover the essence and every moment. It is a natural place that transmits balance, harmony, tranquility and at the same time, tests us and motivates us to self-improvement. The mountain is accessible to all, just enough to take the first step ... we offer a different experience to share.
