Description

Take your talents to southwestern Canada and discover the amazing geology of Vancouver Island on an epic weekend of backcountry skiing! This out-of-the-way skiing destination is easy to reach and loaded with enough runs, lines, and aesthetic wonder to satisfy any wayward traveler looking for ultimate adventure!

Vancouver Island sits just off the coast of southwestern British Columbia in the Pacific Ocean. Victoria is the capital of the province and is situated at the southern point of the island. The island itself is never more than 100 kilometers wide. Heading inland, the largest island of western North America has a rugged, mountainous terrain that is a captivating objective for nature lovers, mountaineers, and skiers.

Accessing the island is done by ferry and plane from major hubs like Vancouver and Seattle, adding to the remote splendor and scenic prowess of the island and its terrain. The main points of entry are usually Victoria and Nanaimo, and you can drive or walk onto the ferries or fly in with your equipment.

Your program puts you into the middle of this wilderness paradise. The island is known for its mountainous middle, which includes more than ten peaks over 2,000 meters tall for you. The glaciers at the center of the island are unimposing. This means great tree-lined runs, high ridges with steep drop ins, and a diverse and unique landscape to tour over the course of two days.

Your ski trip has an endless number of options. It can take you to some of the notable peaks of the island, like Mt. Myra (1,810m) and Alexandra Peak (1,983m), both featuring tree skiing and untouched powder. The snowfall often reaches nine meters and consists of a quality on par with the world-class powder of the Coast Mountains of mainland British Columbia.

I love the isolation and serenity of Vancouver Island, and traveling through the backcountry is a magical experience everyone should take part in. I will show you a safe and satisfying program while introducing you to one of the most incredible backcountries in western Canada.

You should have backcountry experience and the physical fitness to safely and comfortably complete two days in challenging terrain. The mental fortitude to endure harsh conditions is also necessary to get the most from this trip.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
