Description

Definitely one of the most peaceful and vast areas in Nepal you can trek through, Dolpo presents a seemingly endless path from which you can trek upon. And for 22 days, at an average hiking time of approximately 7 hours a day, you will have the chance to see a great deal of it.

It is with good reason that Dolpo, also known as Ba Yul translates to hidden valley. There is definitely something mysterious about it. Perhaps it’s the isolation that comes from being enclosed by Dhaulagiri and Tibet. Either way, it is a magical place to visit.

The trip will begin in Kathmandu, where you will have ample time to explore the capital city’s many sights. However, once we leave the city, the next three weeks will consist of wide open space and camping amongst lush flora and fauna, and several high passes that will allow you to enjoy spectacular views of many of the Himalayas’ finest peaks.

Dolpo is a dream come true for any nature lover, as you will get to gaze upon several lakes, forests, streams and rivers, including the prehistoric Arun river, along with many named and unnamed peaks as well, you will also have the chance to visit a number of remote villages, several of which are Tibetan influenced. Thus granting you a chance to get a glimpse into not just the natural aspects of the area, but the cultural ones as well.

If you would like to spend 3 weeks exploring a peaceful, yet enormous, beautiful area, you can’t do much better than the Dolpo area of Nepal. If that sounds like the trip for you, just send us a request, and we’ll happily do the rest.

Are you looking for a more challenging Nepalese adventure? If so, we also offer this 21 day journey around Dhaulagiri that involves climbing to the summit of the amazing Thapa peak.
