The Besh Tash area of Kyrgyzstan is a remarkably beautiful place. Surrounded by the enormous peaks of the Tian Shan mountain range, and home to the sparkling Besh Tash lake, it is definitely an area worth exploring. And on this 9 day trek, you will get the chance to see a great deal of it.
Beginning in the capital city of Biskek, we will immediately make our way to the Talas valley, and from there the adventure will begin. And what an adventure it is!
You will have the chance to see the previously mentioned Tian Shan mountain range, home to some truly impressive peaks. You will also have the chance to climb several 4000 metre plus peaks. In addition, because we will be camping at various sites along the route, you will get to directly see and interact with members of Kyrgyzstan’s nomadic groups.
While the trek is straight forward, there is still a lot of room for surprises. This is because several of the peaks we will attempt to scale, I will be scaling for the first time.
The trek itself will not be too difficult. There is no climbing equipment or ropes necessary. However, there will be a lot of walking, so participants should be fit. Also, the terrain will vary from rocky and grassy to possibly even snowy.
On this trek, you will have the chance to admire and appreciate the seemingly endless landscape of the Besh Tash area. You will also get to look up and marvel at the Tian Shan mountains. Finally, at the end of the trip, you will get to gaze at, and even swim in the gorgeous Besh Tash lake. This is a truly magical trip.
