Located on the western side of the island of Martinique, the Canal de Beauregard, which is also known as the Canal des Esclaves, offers an excellent half-day hiking experience!
We will make this three hour hike around the rim of the canal, learning a bit about its history as well as observing some of Martinique’s rich biological diversity.
As we hike along shaded paths, we will be able to enjoy fantastic views out over Martinique’s stunning scenery and really be able to appreciate the island’s natural beauty.
We will also get the chance to see some of the island’s magnificent giant trees, including cacao and rosewood. We may also get the chance to spot the cirique, a yellow crab that makes its home in the river.
While the hiking is all pretty easy, there are a couple of uphills spots, so while you don’t need to be in pique physical condition to participate, a moderate level of fitness is called for.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for a marvelous half-day of hiking along Martinique’s Canal de Beauregard!
If you like the look of this trip then we think you will also enjoy our half-day hiking trip along the La Caravelle peninsular from Tartane!
