Castle Crags is a famous rock formation located in the North of California, with its tallest crag measuring at an elevation of over 2,000m high. It has become one of the most popular rock climbing destinations in the country for serious climbers.

After meeting in the morning in Mt. Shasta, we then head out to the crags, whose relatively isolated location means that crowds are never much of an issue.

After running through all appropriate safety gear and information, we then hit the crags in earnest, with some of the more famous climbs to undertake including Plumbline, Six Toe Crack and the mighty Cosmic Wall, which has become a true rock climbing bucket-list item since its establishment in 1979.

The views we will be exposed to are absolutely sublime, with vast tracts of forest, mesmerizing waterways and the towering and majestic Mt. Shasta all visible from the crags.
