Along with its stunning twin Pollux, the Castor peak (4,223m) is an amazing mountain. Part of the incredible Monte Rosa massif, in the Aosta Valley of the Italian Alps, Castor makes for a great climb, culminating with sensational, panoramic views from its summit. And on this 2-day adventure, I would like to guide you to that summit.
Our journey will begin in Staffal. From there we will take a lift to the Bettaforca Pass. After that, we will climb to the Sella Refuge (3,585m), where we will eat and rest for the night. However, before that, I will walk you through some technical lessons that include knot tying, how to use crampons and more.
On the second day, beginning at 4:00 am, we will wake, eat breakfast make our ascent to the summit of Castor. And after you’ve enjoyed the stunning views, we will then make our way back down, where we will enjoy a refreshing beer while debriefing. The ascent and descent should take between 6 to 9 hours, depending on weather conditions and pace.
In order to participate on this trip, you should have some prior climbing experience. You should also be in good physical condition.
Scaling a mountain like Castor is a fantastic opportunity for any mountaineer. If you would like to enjoy this 2-day climb for yourself, just send me a request. I look forward to guiding you.

I was born in 1981 and live in the Aosta Valley, surrounded by the wonderful peaks of my region.
I started guiding in 2016.
I like all mountain activities: freeride skiing and ice climbing in winter, ski mountaineering in spring, mountaineering in the high mountain in summer and rock climbing whenever possible!
