Description
On this amazing 9-day backpacking trek in the Central Pyrenees and Ordesa Valley, you will enjoy an original and strenuous hiking experience through beautiful landscapes and a unique wilderness.
We will set off from Lourdes or another town at the outlet of the Valley of Cauterets and Luz. Throughout our traverse, we will explore part of the Spanish and part of the French Pyrenees with an optional ascent of Petit Vignemale. We will stay in cozy mountain huts, and enjoy an exhilarating trekking experience that will put your body in action and in nature. You can find a detailed itinerary below.
To join, you will need to walk on wild paths demanding good physical shape and also be used to carry a backpack. Of course, you will at all times be guided by a certified professional that will both show you the best spots in the region and take care of your safety.

Itinerary
Day 1: Lourdes
Arrival at Lourdes or another town at the outlet of the Valley of Cauterets and Luz. Accommodation in a*** hotel.
Meeting with your guide to check your equipment and to talk about the last details of your hike.
Day 2: Barrage des Gloriettes- Espuguettes hut
Transfer by local taxi to Gloriettes Lake where the hike begins. Walk by Cirque d’Estaubé and pass Hourquette d’Alans pass to Espuguettes hut.

Day 3: Espuguettes hut- Gavarnie
Nice walk through the balcony path to Gavarnie Cirque and then to Gavarnie Village where ze will stop for overnight.

Day 4: Gavarnie Village- Refuge Sarradets
Hike leading to one of the most emblematic places of the Pyrenees: la Brèche de Roland. Overnight in the Sarradets hut.

Day 5: Sarradets hut- Goriz hut
Climb up to Brèche de Roland and walk towards an amazing balcony path above Ordesa Valley: Faja de las Flores. Overnight in the Goriz hut at the foot of Monte Perdido.

Day 6: Goriz hut- Torla village
Walk down through Ordesa Canyon. The Valley has been included since 1997 by UNESCO in the Biosphere Reserve of Ordesa-Viñamala. Overnight in a beautiful Torla village.

Easy hike to a very interesting mountain village San Nicolas de Bujaruelo where we will stay for an overnight in a very hospital mansion.

Passage to the French part of the Pyrenees through the pass of Bernatoire. Overnight in the Baysellance hut at the foot of the Petit Vignemale.

Day 9: Baysellance hut- Cauterets
The last day of the hike. Walk at the foot of legendary Vignemale and amazing Gaube Valley where we can rest at the Oulettes de Gaube hut (Optional: climbing up the Petit Vignemale 1h30 up and down). Arrival at Cauterets village from where we take the taxi to go to the hotel overnight.

Really great experience doing a snowshoe hike in the Tatra mountains - I was fortunate enough to have sunny weather after a few days of light snow so conditions were amazing. I just did it on my own and Helena was super accommodating and made small changes to the route on the fly to make things more interesting. To be clear if you book this experience you are booking a professional mountain guide so the route they take you on can easily be adjusted to your group requirements and where to go for best conditions . Helena was extremely knowledgeable of the area - both in terms of her knowledge of the local trail networks and in chatting to me about the history, culture and geography of the Tatra mountains as we progressed along the hike. The route we went on was about 400m elevation (which I was comfortable doing) and the view from the summit was incredible. Would definitely recommend the experience if you want a great way to explore and view the Tatra mountains

Helena was an amazing guide. She was knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Would highly recommend Helena. She was very kind throughout the trip and helped us out quite a bit in the huts where English is more limited. The Tatras are beautiful. The hike was strenuous, especially with the constant rain for two days but despite the weather we still had a great time.
