I invite you to a full day ascent to Cerro Madsen at 1.806 meters above sea level.
The ascent to Cerro Madsen is a perfect challenge for beginners or those who want to make a mountain summit in Patagonia enjoying one of the most stunning views of the continent.
That’s why I want to propose this guided experience of only one day of duration. The trip starts early in the morning in El Chaltén from where we’ll drive to the Hostería El Pilar, our trail-head.
We will walk to the Fitz Roy Campsite and after that, we continue up to Laguna de los Tres. Then, we are finally in the eastern ridge of Cerro Madsen.
Depending on weather conditions and the season of the year we may find some snow patches. In that case, we’ll need to use crampons, ropes and ice axe.
And here we are in the summit of Cerro Madsen, possibly one of the most imposing views to Mount Fitz Roy and Piedras Blancas Glacier. The descent will be by the same way and then, drive back to El Chaltén.
Although it’s not mandatory to have previous experience you will need a good physical shape. Take into account it will be a very long day with a total trekking time of 12-14 hours.
If you’re interested in this trip, please contact me now and book your place. Departures available till April! I will be waiting your contact.

If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).
What happens if the guide doesn’t show up or cancels for personal reasons?
If the guide cancels for reason of injury or other, you will get a 100% refund on your trip.
