Description

Rising to 4,808 meters (15,774 feet) in elevation, Mont Blanc is the perfect spot for a Chamonix ski touring adventure!

Western Europe's highest peak dominates the southern skyline of the picturesque resort town of Chamonix and is a great spot of a 4-day outing.

Our adventure begins at the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc train station. From here, we will head into the mountains via the Aiguille du Midi cable car.

The rest of our first day will be spent going over some glacial ski touring techniques as we head to the Cosmiques refuge (3613m).

From here, we will spend more time skiing around Mont Blanc, heading to the Vallée Blanche and back down to Chamonix.

The final day of the trip will be set aside to go out on a high, literally, as we get an early start and head up to the summit of Mont Blanc.

Depending on the weather, however, we will also have the chance to head up the iconic French peak on the second or third day as well, and slightly abbreviate the program.

Regardless of when we head up to the top, we will be greeted by absolutely stunning views of the Chamonix and Aosta Valleys as well as over some of the other most iconic mountain peaks in the range.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this tough but rewarding 4-day Chamonix ski touring adventure with an ascent of Mont Blanc!

Itinerary

Day 1: Col du Midi

After meeting up, we will make sure all of our gear is in order before heading to the Aiguille du Midi cable car. From here, we will ski across the glacier at the foot of Pyramid du Tacul (3468m), climbing and descending until we reach Col du Midi (3532m).

Day 2: Vallée Blanche

We begin the day by descending down the famous Vallée Blanche, before ascending the Périades glacier and continuing on to Brêche Puiseux (3413m). Depending on the group, we may also be able to ascend Tacul (4248m) before skiing down into the Chamonix Valley.

Day 3: La Jonction

We will return to the Aiguille du Midi cable car and take it to the Plan de l’Aiguille (2317m). From here, we will skin underneath the north face of Aiguille du Midi and on toward Bossons. From here we cross a glacial plateau and arrive at the refuge near La Jonction.

Day 4: Mont Blanc (4808m)

We will head toward the north ridge of the Dome first thing in the morning. After climbing the ridge, we will ski across to the Col du Dome, which is followed by a steep ascent to Vallot and then a final push to the summit. From the top, we will ski back to Chamonix
