Description

The Coscione Plateau boasts one of the most unique landscapes in the French island of Corsica, located in the Mediterranean Sea, south east of France. This 4-day hiking traverse, suitable for the whole family, will take you to discover a place where nature is intact, with magical scenery, crossing vast flat areas with surreal rocks, water holes, _pozzine_s, streams, pastures and beautiful flowers.

Along our traverse you will observe a rich and diverse flora and fauna: cows, horses and pigs live here quite freely, roaming in the middle of fantastic landscapes. You will be introduced to the Corsical shepherds ancestral way of life, visiting and staying in different bergeries (sheepfolds) along our hiking tour.

The lawns are covered with thousand water holes (pozzines) are a space of serenity and relax in summer. The pozzines are kind of small puddles, that pull their name of the word pozzi (well). The shepherds used them as a precious water supply during summer.

We will enjoy breaks in soft lawns, nearby a pond, enjoying a full immersion in nature. We will also spend a night in tents, under the stars, after a magical sunset. You can check the day-by-day itinerary below.

This is an intermediate level hike and everybody is welcome. Come discover the wonders of this unique place in Corsica, away from crowded trails, hiking through beautiful valleys with unique rock formations and water holes.

So just send me a request if you want to discover this unique place in Corsica. You can check the date below and join a group, or you can also book private guiding. I will be happy to guide you on this 4-day hiking traverse.

It is also possible to join a 3-day Coscione Plateau hiking traverse. And if you have more time available, then you can check out this 9-day Hiking tour through Alta Rocca and southern Corsica.
