Discover an unbeatable training ground high above Chamonix. Our program teaches you to use crampons and an ice axe, helps with acclimatization, and gives you hands-on practice of the core mountaineering techniques you’ll need for bigger objectives — all while enjoying the spectacular panoramas of the Vallée Blanche.
Aiguille du Midi is one of Chamonix’s most dramatic viewpoints: the cable car takes you from the town to the high mountains in about 20 minutes, reaching the Aiguille’s summit station at 3,842 m. The lift is famous for its extraordinary vertical ascent of roughly 2,800 metres, putting you instantly into true high-mountain terrain.
During the program we combine flat and steep snow technique drills with short technical climbs and ridge work so you can build confidence on exposed ground, and we put everything into practice on guided descents and traverses that mirror real conditions.

- The price includes three days of activities on the Aiguille du Midi.
- * Day 1: Crampon and ice axe practice on the Vallée Blanche, followed by a climb of the Arête de Laurence and lunch at the Cosmiques Hut.
- * Day 2: Traverse of Pointe Lachenal, putting into practice the skills learned the previous day.
- * Day 3: Ascent of the Arête des Cosmiques, then descent back to Chamonix in the afternoon.

Day 1: Chamonix – Aiguille du Midi
Crampon and ice axe practice, followed by a climb of the Arête de Laurence. Lunch at the Cosmiques Hut and return to Chamonix.
Day 2: Aiguille du Midi
Climb the Traverse of Pointe Lachenal, then return to Chamonix in the afternoon.
Day 3: Final Day
Ascent of the famous Arête des Cosmiques, followed by the return to Chamonix.

It’s important to be in good physical condition. The aim of this program is to review and practice all the essential mountaineering techniques in a spectacular setting, with daily activities on the Aiguille du Midi. This serves as preparation for a future ascent of Mont Blanc.
