Description
Only about 50 kilometers outside of Barcelona, there is a wonderful place perfect for hiking, the Montseny Natural Park. So join me on this day hike and discover this fantastic place.
The Montseny Natural Park is a natural reserve with mesmerizing sceneries and different options for every type of hiker. On this particular trip, you can choose one of 3 levels, that will take you across different terrains. Also, you will visit stunning places like the Sant Sagimon monastery, that lies within cliffs and an enchanting forest.
You will also get to see Mount Montseny up close. And once you see this mesmerizing mount, you’ll understand why it is a cultural icon in Catalonia. Plus, during the trek you will learn about the geology of the peak and its history. Moreover, you will also trek by the Matagalls peak, the highest peak in Barcelona, surrounded by a quiet and dazzling forest.
So put on your hiking shoes and choose an alternative that best fits your fitness level. Here are some options I have prepared for you:
Level 1 & 2 – open for everyone: this is a hike of about 2 hours, next to the ocean, where you will get splendid views of Turo de l’Home and Les Agudes.
Level 3 & 4 – sport: on this option you will reach the summit of Matagalls. It will take you about 5 hours.
Level 5 – performance: this 7 hour hike will take you from Coll Formic, across the Matagalls, through Les Agudes and Santa Fe.

I was a bit hesitate to book with explore-share as I have never heard of it and am a women traveling alone looking for a hike to do in another country. I am elated I booked with Pere on a full day hike in the Pyreneess. Pere was very nice, funny and professional- he had lots of info on history, culture and of course everything mountainside. He brought snacks and bought coffee which was unexpected but very appreciated- he provided transportation & had lots of extra gear too! He was very good at judging my skill level and pushed me just enough as far as pacing and trail difficulty. I am so lucky to have chosen Pere as a guide! Internally it was a physically and mentally challenging hike; I would not of made it to the top if I was alone. If anyone is hesitating on which guide to pick I would say to look no further and go with Pere. It was the highlight of my trip to Barcelona and will remember it for years to come when looking for extra motivation & momentum on my next hikes.

We had a fabulous and unforgettable hike in the Pyrenees with Pere. He is a very knowledgable, safety conscious and experienced guide. He had water, snacks, and gear for us and took some really great pictures during the day which he shared with us. We also made a short stop before our hike for coffee and a snack as he went over the hike we would be taking and showed us a map of the trail and area, which was really nice for orienting us. This is a hike not to be missed, and I would highly recommend going with Explore-Share and not on your own unless you are very familiar with the trails and area.

Pere was amazing!! He was so kind and so much fun! We had the best hike with him through the Pyrenees. It was absolutely beautiful, and we loved being able to hike through the snow and getting to see the snow-capped mountains. It was INCREDIBLE.
