Description
Rising to 1,824 meters in elevation and towering over the shores of Lake Annecy, the Dents de Lanfon have long been a coveted summer climbing destination.
Sitting on the left bank of Lake Annecy, this lace-shaped cliff is visible from much of the basin and provides stunning views throughout the valley and over the surrounding mountains as well.
Beginning from the little commune of Alex (848 meters), we will enjoy a scenic approach, making our way through the basin.
At the first pass, we will make a steep ascent that involves short sections of climbing until we arrive at the top of the dents and enjoy panoramic views of our surroundings.
We will then proceed to climb from that first overlook up to the top of the central dents. The entire traverse is quite scenic, but the views from the top are especially good.
This trip will involve climbing along some exposed ridge line as well as some rope travel. Therefore, it is best for strong hikers with some previous mountaineering experience.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
