Description

Join me for a unique evening snowshoe walk and a delicious cheese fondue in Moléson-sur-Gruyères, in the beautiful Swiss Alps! This small village is located in the municipality of Gruyères, in the canton of Fribourg, and it is here where the famous cheese of the same name is made.

This magical experience starts with an evening snwowshoe stroll under the stars. We can hear the crunching sound of the snow under our feet, as we walk by enjoying the quietness and peace of this beautiful place.

We arrive at the vénérable Pènî chalet and we immerse ourselves into a world of legends. When the wind whistles outside, carrying swirls of snow, we enjoy a typical delicious creamy cheese fondue around the fire, in a cozy atmosphere, listening to old country tales about the adventures of elves, fairies, goblins, witches and chamois.

If you have more time available, next day you could climb the Moléson (2002m), a landmark peak of the Fribourg Pre-Alps. You can reach the summit by cableway and funicular. The Moléson Massif is a popular hiking area and ski region, with a restaurant at the top.

You can also visit the show dairy in Moléson village, where the world famous Gruyère AOC cheese is made twice a day over a log fire, in the traditional way.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
