First Ascent 2-day Rock Climbing Course, Seneca Rocks, WV

Located in West Virginia, USA, the Seneca Rocks are not only a place to enjoy some great rock climbing, but they are also a great place to learn how to properly and safely rock climb as well. And by the end of this 2 day course, we will teach you as much as we can to ensure that you are a much improved rock climber than you were before you started.

As part of the expansive Appalachian mountain range, the Seneca Rocks offer some spectacular views. Hence making this course as scenic and enlivening as it is informative and exciting.

Much will be covered during this course because the more you learn the better a climber you will become. Some examples of what we will teach you during this 2 day course includes the following.

• Gear essentials

• Basic climbing movement

• Basic knots and hitches

• Outdoor climbing hazards and management

• Top rope and lead belaying

• Rappeling

• Leave no trace principles

• Anchor evaluation

We will focusing primarily on low to moderately difficulty climbing routes. Thus making this course ideal for beginners to outdoor rock climbing. Moreover, no prior outdoor climbing experience is necessary. However, participants should be in good physical condition.

With the tools acquired during this course, you will learn the techniques necessary to successfully climb amazing walls not only on the Seneca Rocks, but also Moore’s wall and Stone mountain.
