Description

Surrounded by magnificent ice towers and pristine rivers and lakes, the full Huayhuash trek is known to be one of the greatest in the world!

The Cordillera Huayhuash is a mountain range within the Andes of Peru. where participants will discover the second highest peak in this country after Huascarán called Yerupajá Grande (6634 meters). This spectacular mountain chain of 30 km of extension is located south of the Cordillera Blanca, 360 km from Lima.

During this challenging trek, hikers will discover its beautiful mountain scenery as well as its unique peacefulness. Along this wild and difficult trek, participants will take on several high passes including one over 5000 meters high.

I have included a couple of rest days in order for participants to complete this challenging journey in the best possible conditions. During this 15 days, we will ascend the Leon Huacanan (5.215 meters ) and Diablo mudo (5427 meters), two spectacular Peruvian mountains that will present a fine moderate mountaintaineering challenge.

You will find a detailed itinerary below!

This trip is suitable only for those adventurous climbers who already have some previous experience on trekking and camping in remote areas. Also, all participants must be in great physical condition.

Considered to be among “the ten best walking routes in the world”, this 15-day trek will be a unique experience. So if you are ready, request to book this trip and join me on one of the most extraordinary walks of the Andes!

If you are looking for a less challenging trek in Peru, you can join me on this 15-day Alpamayo trek (with Pisco ascent) or on this  13-day Santa Cruz trek in Peru!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
