Positioned high in the western Alps, Gran Paradiso is one of the more accessible peaks to climb in the famed European mountain range. Thus making it a great climb for less experienced climbers looking to scale a 4000 plus meter peak.
Our trip will begin in the refuge parking lot in Pont – Valsavarenche. From there we will climb to either the Vittorio Emanuele refuge or the Federico Chabod refuge, depending on the availability of the refuges and the glacier conditions. At the selected refuge we will enjoy some dinner before resting for the night.
On the second day of this trip, early in the morning, after breakfast, which we will eat at approximately 4:00 am, we will make our way to the summit of the Gran Paradiso. The climb and subsequent descent will take between 8 and 12 hours. And while you will be very tired at the end of the day, I can promise you the views and experience will be unforgettable.
While this trip is ideal for beginners, it is important that participants are in good physical condition.
To climb the Gran Paradiso is to enjoy one of the best climbs in the Aosta Valley. If you would like to join me on this 2 day adventure, please send me a request. I look forward to hearing from you.
Would you like to do some climbing in the Swiss Alps? Then come and join me on this full day ascent of the amazing West Breithorn peak near the famous Matterhorn.

I was born in 1981 and live in the Aosta Valley, surrounded by the wonderful peaks of my region.
I started guiding in 2016.
I like all mountain activities: freeride skiing and ice climbing in winter, ski mountaineering in spring, mountaineering in the high mountain in summer and rock climbing whenever possible!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
