Join me in this amazing adventure to the summit of Cerro Mercedario, in the Argentinean Andes! I’ll guide you during 13 days in this challenging program!
Cerro Mercedario (6770 m) is the highest peak in the San Juan Province. It’s part of the Cordillera de la Ramada mountain range. Also, it’s the eighth highest mountain in the Andes. It’s very popular among climbers that are looking for a challenging ascent in the area. And it’s perfect if you want to avoid the crowds that attempt to climb Cerro Aconcagua (6962 m)!
As we move into the gullies, we will enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Central Andes. Besides, with its high and snowy peaks, I can guarantee that this mighty mountain range will make a lasting impression.
We’ll meet in the city of Barreal, where we’ll start our trek. The usual route to Cerro Mercedario is called ‘Ruta de Los Incas’. The name is due to the archaeological remains that where found in the mountains. You can check the complete itinerary below this text. Technically, the ascent of the peak is of moderate difficulty. However, it requires climbers to be really fit, as its physical difficulty is graded as ‘high’. So, you should be in excellent physical condition. This is the perfect chance for you to get to know the beautiful Argentinean Andes! So contact me and I’ll answer all your questions regarding this program.
