The McDowell Sonoran Preserve is a beautiful area to explore and enjoy. And, on this half-day trek in the area, you will get to trek to the wonderful Balanced Rock.

Located near the Arizonian city of Sedona, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve will provide you with plenty of amazing desert views. You will get to see plenty of cacti and stunning rock formations, including the Balanced Rock at the end of whichever trail we decide to hike. And, because there are over 100 miles worth of trails within the preserve, we will have no problem finding the perfect one for you.

Seemingly defying the laws of physics, the enormous Balanced Rock will take your breath away. Just be sure to stand next to it to really appreciate it. Also, don’t forget to bring your camera!

Most of the trails to reach the Balanced Rock are winding, but very easy. There isn’t much elevation gain either. As a result, no prior experience is necessary to enjoy this trip. However, you should be in good physical condition. Finally, this trip is open all year round. So, anytime you find yourself in Sedona, you can enjoy this wonderful trekking adventure.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide.
